It occurred to me that almost every heli and aftermarket part that I have purchased for a heli was from a salesman point of view. I have wasted many thousands of dollars on chasing what a saleman/prosalepilot recommend or said I should buy.
I no longer try to listen to what salesmen/Prosalepilot have to recommend, so I began looking for the cues to what a Prosalepilots would say for you to buy their product.
These are some of the things I observed,
they say things such as;

it's doing very well
Buy it from my website
a few of my fellow "super star pilots" tried it and love it

Please feel free add what a Prosalepilot may say to get you buy buy buy their product.

i have a 1/5 scale turbine machine and needed a gyro, the salesman did not know i have flown for nearly 9 years, tried to sell me a tiny gyro which would not have coped with the large tail and slow speed i run i wanted a 401, but they are hard to get now in shops as they are old.
he was telling me it was it was the best thing, you get a gut feeling when someone tries to oversell something they are on a sticky wicket and the fact i have been in sales myself for nearly 15 yrs. So i just asked what machine he flew and a couple of technical questions you soon get to see if they know anything about the products they sell.

I look at technical specs and then check the product out here on RR with other heli fliers. I never trust the reseller, pro pilot or local hobbyshop. Even if they tried to offer the advice in your best interest, they are never going to have as much experience with a product as we collectively here are. I throw out the outlandish responses from the people here and boil down the rest to get a consensus.

I work in the Hobby business and I don't like to fool people to push for a sale. Also sometimes things that I like may not be want others will like or expect. Now I'm not going to tell you guys where I work but if you ever see me at the field or anywhere I always give me honest feedback The "internet" is your friend and I think most people today do at least some research before they make a purchase
it's doing very well
I don't see this as a bad thing unless the stuff is absolutely junk and the guy is sugar coating it saying it's doing well.
Buy it from my website
a few of my fellow "super star pilots" tried it and love it
every pilot has a different flying style. Maybe their super star pilots fly smooth and not smack. Less abuse? Or even the sales man is lying about their so called super star pilots loving it while they hate it.

I noticed more something along the lines of:

"This product will give you so much more than all the other products available."

1. Give it time, competitors will bring something else out that will be close, the same, or better than that product.
2. Half the time when it "gives you more" you either need a VERY specific set up to get that extra stuff or you have to get a ton of other stuff to work in combination with the product to get the extras.

Welcome to the world of commerce. Salesmen are there to do one thing and one thing only. Sell. I doubt there are very few if any that will say a product they are selling is junk. If there are any then they are bad salesmen and are likely on welfare.
