Hey Guys,

Ordered my 1st Heli (600ELF Pro) and I am getting my batteries. Went back and forth between running an A123/LIFE for the RX or run a 2S Lipo.

Well I am pretty much sold on sticking with the Lipo. But I don't want
to use the Align 6A External BEC.

What do you guys recommend for a good Regulator/BEC?

I am looking at the Western Robotics Hercules BEC. I like it because it has 2 leads to feed my AR7200BX.

Sounds like you're planning to run a separate lipo for the rx, if so, there's no need for a bec. The 7200bx will run off straight lipo. Of course this is dependent on running HV servos.

IS there any reason that I shouldn't run a Castle Pro off of one 6S pack and eliminate the RX bat all together? I don't really want to run 12S through it.

If you want to run a seperate rx lipo and regulate it for those servos, the ReactorX is bomb proof. It will also give you flexibility if you ever upgrade to HV servos. I've been running them for years and never had a failure!
A bec is really intended to preclude the use of a seperate rx battery, although some run one for redundancy.

600 class helis are designed for 12s operations. If you don't want to run a seperate rx lipo, either of the Hercules are the best option.
If you just have to decide if you want all your eggs in one basket, so to speak.

I run A123 on my Nitro birds, with 6.6v to the Align DS610/650 servos.
All of my 12S birds (700E, Fusion/Furion) use a Castle Bec Pro wired to one of the 6S packs (pick up 6S off the series connectors).
Lots of flights, and working great

I have a align 2in1 bec on my nitro and on the 600 I'm rebuilding now I have a 6.6 life battery plugged into the rx. I don't know how that will work out but I figure it's 1 less thing to go wrong and no matter what happens to my esc or flight pack I'll still have the rx

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day
