Is a digital. 16 sec servo to slow to be run on a flybarless system? A buddy has jr 8311 on his heli and wants to go flybarless with them.

I am going to say yes, I think a better grade servo is needed. I am flying 2 BeastX and 2 750's both using better servos

John,
I had a set of them on my FBL Trex 700N before getting the Align DS610's ..They fly fine and work pretty good.I changed them out for the Align DS610's because I already had them...If I didn't have the DS610's,I would of flown the crap out of them JR's ..

It's not that a slow servo is a problem for an FBL unit it's really a combination of a fast enough servo that is strong enough because fast without torque won't work well either.

The feedback forces on FBL servos are considerable so you need something that is strong enough with a little speed too. DS610's would be a minimum FBL servo, there are better ones.

anyone know what the swashplate frequency should be set to for the ds8311 for ar7200bx? these servos are .16 @ 6v. they have plenty of torque just not sure about the speed. well see i guess.

I'll be using 8311s on my Furion 6 with an SK-540. I suspect they will be just fine based on my previous experience with these servos and V-Bar.
