Sarah Palin, Some RNC Members Push for Convention-Floor Fight

http://news.yahoo.com/sarah-palin-r...s-politics.html

A convention-floor fight might still be brewing in Tampa. Fla., over a proposed Republican Party rule on delegates.
Some Republican National Committee members were up in arms Monday about a proposed rule that would weaken states' control of who gets to attend future national conventions as voting delegates. While primaries typically determine how many delegate votes candidates will receive, states typically meet later to fill out those delegate rosters. A new rule would allow presidential candidates to veto those choices.
Republican National Committeeman Jim Bopp, who had led the movement against the rule, reached a compromise with other RNC members Monday, but some of his fellow partisans have rejected it, according to internal emails obtained by ABC News.
Fanning the flames, Sarah Palin posted to her Facebook page urging Republican National Committee members to revolt against the proposed rule, which was supported by backers of presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney.
Palin wrote Monday night:
Had a great time today in Gilbert, Arizona, at a rally for Kirk Adams. It's very important to pay attention to these down ballot races like Kirk Adams, Jeff Flake, and Paul Gosar in Arizona. We have to remember that this election is not just about replacing the party in power. It's about who and what we replace it with. Grassroots conservatives know this. Without the energy and wisdom of the grassroots, the GOP would not have had the historic 2010 electoral victories. That's why the controversial rule change being debated at the RNC convention right now is so very disappointing. It's a direct attack on grassroots activists by the GOP establishment, and it must be rejected. Please follow the link to Michelle Malkin's article about this.
Bopp's compromise would eliminate the ability for presidential candidates to veto state delegate selections, instead mandating that delegates vote as they are bound by primary or caucus results, but fellow RNC members are not all on board.
According to internal RNC emails, some members will push for a "minority report" to block the delegate rule change, attempting to push that to the convention floor for a vote, potentially adding a show of disunity to Mitt Romney's coronation as the party's presidential nominee.
Perhaps lost in the RNC's internal dispute is a broader change that would effectively prevent future candidates from pursuing Rep. Ron Paul's strategy of amassing delegates at state conventions.
Another proposed change, untouched by Bopp's compromise, would eliminate unbound Republican delegates, requiring every state to allocate delegates to presidential candidates according to statewide votes. Paul remained a topic of conversation this year without winning any states, as his supporters out-organized longstanding local party members at county and state conventions in a handful of states.
Paul gained plurality delegate support in four states in 2012; under the new rule, he would not enjoy plurality delegate support in any state.

Hey shouldn't you be out promoting Ron Paul...remember he's one you pretend to support while you're defending Obama and the leftists.

Are you going to come clean if Obama wins? We all know you're a total lefty Obama supporter anyway. Come on, man up and be honest about yourself.

Copy and paste in a few more posts dilbert. Maybe someone else will jump in on your ASSumptions.

I never see you post anything pro Mitt, so you must be the true Obama supporter.

I'm not a Mitt supporter. I support whoever has the best chance to defeat Obama.

Here's where I stand:

I am who I say I am. If you look at my profile, it says I am a "right wing wack job." I have never posted anything other than pro right wing and anti left wing. I am consistent.

You, on the other hand, claim to be a Ron Paul supporter yet will only slightly mention his name.

You attack, attack, and attack the right while you defend, defend, and defend the left.

Rather than admit the truth, you are trying to deceive the good people on this forum by claiming you are a Ron Paul supporter while defending Obama and the left.

Your hatred of the right has creeped from your mind through your fingers onto your keyboard and into this forum...and that has revealed who you really are...a total leftist.

I am publicly accusing you of misrepresenting yourself as someone not from the left.

Good gosh man, why not man up and tell the truth? If you have the man crush on Obama, tell me to buzz off and sing Obama's praises openly.

I do not attack as you put it. And the only time I defend the left is when you and others put up non factual information. It is not defending, it is showing the truth which a lot of the posts on here are.
You, on the other hand, claim to be a Ron Paul supporter yet will only slightly mention his name.
So if I do not mention his name all the time that means I am not really for him. Believe what you want but my vote is going to Ron Paul, I do not need to preach to anyone about who they are going to vote for, you all have your minds made up so it would be a waste of my time. It would be like you trying to get me to vote for Mitt, it will never happen.

As for the rest of your rant, believe what you want, I do not care one bit.

Being I don't know everything, I have to concede it's possible you'll be casting your vote for Ron Paul.

Perhaps I've been hasty with my conclusions about you.

Maybe you are who you say you are.

What I do know about you is that you're quite bright and you are good to reference your posts with links. You do seem to like facts from others and not too keen on "tacky posts" from us righties.

Being I'll be casting my vote for (fill in the blank) whoever has the best chance of defeating Obama and you positively will not be voting for Obama, that kinda gives us some common ground.

I do appreciate your posts. Let me explain...if agreement was all I was looking for, I could go look in the mirror (not a pretty sight).

That being said, I plan to refrain from name calling and stick to only facts with you about the upcoming election.

I won't try to push Mitt on you and you're already said you don't plan to push Ron Paul on me.

That pretty much leaves Obama for us to talk about.

Soooo...let's talk about Obama as the civilized would be expected to do.

Help me to better understand your position. Are you opposed to Obama on social issues or political issues or both?

As with every politician out there I agree with some things and disagree with other things. As for the economy, I do not think that a president can fix our economy, I do not feel they have the power to do something like that. Just like I have always stated that I do not blame Bush for economy, I just mentioned that things started going downhill really fast when he was president.

One of my main issues with Obama is his illegal alien stance. I feel that if you are in this country illegally, you should be kicked out and should receive nothing from the government.

Obamacare has it's god points and it's bad points. I do not feel it should be totally thrown out, but fixed.

I am glad he stopped the pipeline from Canada because I do not believe we would have received anything from that than temporary jobs. Plus I do not feel there are enough safety precautions in place due to spills caused by human stupidity. Like the oil well in the gulf which was caused by a person that did not replace a dead battery that they could have replaced. Plus the fact that they had numerous code violations and got nothing more than a slap on the wrist, that needs to change. If that change happens then I am for more drilling, but right now there are too many issues with oil that get over looked.

I also feel that everyone should pay the same percentage of taxes, there is no reason a person who makes a lot more should keep a higher percentage of their pay then a person who makes a lot less. That makes no sense.

I believe in gay rights and abortions. Not allowing either of those takes away the rights of an individual to make their own choice.

Our military needs to be brought home from a lot of places and we need to use our soldiers to help secure our own border. The deadliest city in the world is up against our own border and we do nothing about it. But if someone farts on the other side of the planet we are there to help. Also if be bomb a country, we should not be going back to build it for them at our expense.

Here are just some of my beliefs, hopefully it will give you a better understanding of me.

And for the love of all, stop taking away my gun rights. I want to own a 50BMG, I want to waste tons of money on ammo on a fully automatic weapon. Luckily I live in county that gives out LTC's to people that are clean and have the right to have one.

Oh yeah, I support the death penalty 100%, if you take the life of another person on purpose, then your life deserves to be taken and it should be a public execution.
