Ok I've watched Mr.Mel setup video a gazzilion times. So we've established that.I'm working on a logo 800 with stock esc/motor combo and a 12X radio.

I have no throttle response until mid stick, that's the issue.

I have set the throttle limits to -100 +100 in the tx portion of the setup. To get that I've used my endpoints in the radio itself to achieve the proper endpoints in tx setup. Which has my endpoints in the radio set at H101-L140.

I'm able to control the low end of the motor with the low end of the slide bar in gov2 screen.

Any ideas ?

Perhaps this is the same issue/fix ??

That is normal.

Governor wont start until ABOVE 50%.
Not sure why you have low 140 on endpoints, I doubt it's needed.

Throttle channel is really just a 3 way switch now.
0% = motor off, all off
10-49% = Autobailout
50-100% = a headspeed, which headspeed is up to you, 100% = what you enter in max RPM.

1800 max head speed.

I ended up at 140 on the low side of throttle because I had to go that far to achieve -100 on throttle setup on tx screen.

Mel I understand the gov won't pickup until 50%. But I can't figure out why the heli won't spool up until mid stick.

There is no stick, no throttle curve, its either ON or OFF, and below midstick it's OFF.

Now I'm really confused !! I reset endpoints on throttle to -100 + 100. I'm showing -72 on tx screen in ESC/Throttle bar graph. When I switch to idle up 1 and 2 it says -100/+100 without making any adjustments. Why would norm mode be showing different and could that be causing the spool up issue ?

We're in agreement Mel that the gov turns on at 50%. The problem is the heli won't spool up until mid stick. So.......instead of setting the throttle graph on the tx screen to -100/+100 shouldn't it be set 0/100% that way the heli starts spooling up as soon as you move the stick then the gov would become active at mid stick ?

When setting the endpoints in the TX screen to get -100/+100 you must have a throttle curve of 0-50-100. Also verify where your throttle trim is set. I believe JR transmitters still ship with hover trim enabled by default. If you have not verified it is disabled then the sliders on the back of the transmitter will also affect the throttle and pitch settings.

No, you do NOT have a throttle curve, your looking at this as a nitro where you can start with the stick...

Think of it as a 3 way switch, OFF - Lowest RPM - Highest RPM.

i.e. it wont start until "stick" is at center.

Alright, made some progressive throttle trim needed pulled down. Fixed !!!

Original issue exsists, no response from heli until throttle stick reaches mid stick.

Is that normal ? I'm not referring to the gov not working until mid stick I'm referring to the heli not spooling at all until mid stick.

Ok so let me see if I'm understanding this correctly. Using the Vbar gov you are dead stick from the bottom of the controller to mid stick ? Or is this process just for setting up the gov ? Then you adjust throttle curves to fit your style which in turn would give you the entire range of the throttle stick ?

I'll either get this correct or need to see a shrink !!!!!!! Or both !!

The 0-50-100 curve is only used to get the -100/+100 TX values correct. Once you have the endpoints calibrated you need to set flat curves based on the headspeed you are trying to achieve. Since the flat curve will be higher than 50% the governor will be active from low stick to high stick. You can verify this in the vbar software but make sure your motor is unplugged.

The way I understand it is to set normal to 0,90,90,90,90, I1 to 95 across, I2 to 100 across and hold to 25 across.

That way I2 will govern at your max set HS, I1 will govern to whatever you set between 90 and 100, normal will cutoff at 0 and will go to whatever rpm 90 will give. Adjust the 90% value and the I1 value to give you your desired rpm.

Hold will give you auto bailout capability if you have the box checked in the Vbar setup screen.

This is what I understand from looking at Bert's Vbar video.
