Hi
2years ago i got a furion 6 and it has been great to me.
6months ago i got a trex 700e. on the weekend, i had a tail gear break in half and totally wrote off the heli. This was not the first issue but its the final straw.

Im after a no fuss simple to build reliable machine which will just fly day in day out. So im considering the ballistic , compass 7hv,raptor e720,and the gaui x7. probably in that order also.

I have a few questions

I have a scorpion 4035-560 will this be up tp the task?? I try and fly smooth 3d rather than constant stick banging!

A lot of the new breed electrics have massive maingears and triple bearing blocks, As the ballistic maingear doesnt seem as tall and no 3rd block,Is maingear stripping an issue on the ballistic?

Is it a fussy build that requires dial indicating and heaps of shimming etc??. I ve had kits like this in the past but i dont really have the time of late to tinker as much!

Are their any issues this machine has or mods needed (other than the dampener tape mod)?ie exploding tails etc

Does it fly heavy or light.

I realise their will be a bit of bias in this thread,i was considering posting in other threads but this thread seems to not have so many fan boys and opinions based more on actual experience.

Thanx

G'day mate. Where do you fly in Penrith??

Loving my Ballistic, no fuss build except for wiring the ESC from the front to the Vbar at the back which is common of any heli with this layout anyway. Flies great & hardly needs any maintenance.

I had the 4035-560 in my old ENV, had no probs doing smooth 3D & will be fine in the Ballistic.

The above motor is fine with the stock moulded straight cut main gear. As there is no 3rd bearing block, I green loctite the main shaft to the 2 bearings to eliminate play.

No dial indicating needed. The metal tail gears might need shimming, not sure as I have the plastic tail gear kit.

Flies just right with 5000mAh packs, doesn't feel heavy or light. Some prefer 4000mAh packs to keep the weight down.

I just finished a Ballistic and all I can say is what an awesome helicopter kit. Everything fit perfectly, the metal tail gears are smooth as butter. I flew it for the first time last weekend and it is superb with the 4035-560.

I'm ordering a Ballistic this week from what I've seen this is one really solid machine. Cant hardly wait.....

I also have the Scorpion HKIII 4035-560Kv motor has plenty of power and should be a great power plant for the Ballistic.

Glad to see a couple others running the same motor i will.

Ive just finished my Ballistic (steel gears) and have put about 4-5 flights on it.. Still fine tuning the setup but its very smooth.

I liked the first one so much i purchased a 2nd kit (plastic gears).
