spectrum DX8, set Th. curves linear (1-100%), travel adj. to 0% on both sides, turn on BEC servos etc, set throttle stick high, plug in ESC, advance travel adj. until ESC beeps and do the same with the low end.

thats the process ive been following and all i get when i plug in the esc is the 12 cell count beeps and the led flashes red.

Try moving the low end down 2 points. If that does not work, move the end point all the way down to see if it is an arming issue. Your calibration sounds correct.

I have a 3D heli, I don't understand why it doesn't do 3D

Do you have a castle link? If so, go to the CC website and download the latest software for your 120.

Once you get the software downloaded, plug in the control wire for the esc to the castle link, make sure the polarity is correct or the castle link won't read the 120.

After it is connected to the castle link and the castle link plugged into your computer, now plug in your main power to the 120. You should get both green connected indications on your computer. If your computer/castle link is reading the 120, go to the software tab and update the firmware to the latest. Once that is complete, go back to the first tab and make sure that fixed endpoints is selected on that tab, and then hit the update controller button. The software doesn't automatically update when you make a selection.

Now unplug your main power to the 120, and then disconnect it from the castle link. Now make sure you have a linear throttle curve in your normal mode on your TX. Also, make sure your pinion is moved away from your main gear or that you have your blades removed from your head and tail.

On your TX, go to the travel adjustment function and set your throttle endpoint travel to 50% for high and low. Plug in your 120 to the throttle/collective channel of your RX. With the TX and RX powered, set the throttle stick to high and then plug in your main power pack to the 120. You should get the cell count for your power pack, but no arming of your 120. Leave the stick at high, and slowly start moving the endpoint value towards 100. You should get a partial arming tone when you get to the value the 120 reads as full throttle. Set the endpoint 2 more increments higher.

Now move the stick to the low position and do the same thing with the low endpoint. When you get the arming tones, go two more increments in that direction. Now you should have both the high and low endpoints programmed. Unplug the 120 power and turn off both the TX and RX. Now reapply power to the TX and then the RX. Once connected, now power your 120 with the main pack. If you are running a BEC, you will have to power both the RX and the 120 at the same time when you plug in the main power.

At this point if you don't get the cell count up and 120 arming, then something is wrong with the setup or with the 120. If you get the cell count up and then the arming tones, when you advance the throttle stick, the motor should start.

This procedure has worked on 7 setups of mine, and 3 for a buddy. The only time I had a problem was when we tried to set up without updating both his Vbar and 120 to the latest firmware updates to both. Once we did that, it setup and armed and worked normally.

If you go to the CC website, there will be the Castle procedure for doing what I have outlined. You can download and print out their procedure for reference.

My earlier post is pretty much verbatim from the calibration procedure from Castle.

Will it connect with the castle link and your computer?

Also, I don't want to insult you, but you do have a solid link between your TX and sats or RX before you plug in the ESC. If you aren't getting a low throttle signal to the ESC it won't arm. When you calibrated it, was your throttle trim in the center or was it low?

Are you moving the throttle end point higher? You have to do that until it beeps.....

You couldn't hear me say it but I went from 0% all the way up to 150% while the camera was watching the flashing light. No beeps.

travel adj. to 0% on both sides, turn
It won't do anything if your throttle adjustment is at 0. Food for thought. When I got my Castle 100, I had the same problem. It turned out to be a bad solder on one of the connecters.

If it was reversed, it would be beeping saying that it is going in program mode. If the red light is coming on, it means that there is an error.

Your profile says you have an AR7200BX receiver:

-----

He has a DX8 transmitter. There is no need to reverse the throttle channel. Set the throttle channel to "normal".

If you are using a 7200bx....
Initialize it with a separate battery with throttle atv's at +/-100. After its initialized you can turn the throttle atv's to 0 and only then plug in the esc with throttle at high stick. After that follow normal calibration of throttle endpoints.

I had the same issue with my Vibe 500 last week. when I was trying to loa governor mode into esc I got nothing. After i reset the esc to factory defualt, and went with set end points, clicked on the little quesion mark above it it told me how to calibrate the esc, once that was done viola.. worked like a champ. i feel for you, learning this new fangled electric stuff is definately different for me LOL
Good luck hope you get her going ok.
