Heli did a nose dive, I thought it felt like a momentary loss of control but may have been just lostnthe front servo. I switched tomthe metal A gear recently and I think it may have been too close to the elevator servo. May want to watch for this.

Not too bad to take apart but it's a lot of very small screws.

Before I brushed it off

After cleaning off the dust with a tooth brush

Call HH and get them to replace it. When you put back together, leave one side of the servo out of the mounting slot on the left side of the heli and this will leave plenty of clearance. Will not affect function either.

Maybe you'd better lie down, eh? Why don't you just lie down until rigor mortis sets in?

I did end up calling HH support and he is sending a replacement since this servo is not functioning.

Good hint about leaving a corner out of place. i was thinking about trying to make a shim between the servo and the frame slots for the servo.

15 minutes Airframe time SMOH :-)

HH took care of me on the servo

KBDD make nice sounds, quick but do load up a bit faster than stock 3D blades

I'm not sure what is going on with mine now. new elevator servo died on about the 3rd flight. went full down and won't move even if I manually turn the gear to center the servo. This is one of my favorie heli's so I hate to have it down but I might send it to HH

did some troubleshooting. I pulled the mechanics off one of the good servos and put it on each of the bad servos. One of the bad servos will move in one direction but not the other. The 2nd servo will not move at all, no power to the servo motor. swapping servo mechanics between servos results in the behavior staying with the electronics component of the servos.

I'll give HH support another call.

did you swap to the metal crown tail gear, if so make sure you put both screws in it,or it will rock a little, I think it is enough to catch the moffit on the cercuit board

I do have the metal A gear. I think I'll grind off the edge when I get it back from HH.

I did have both screws in and I thougt it was tight enough but maybe not.

I have had two servos go out on my 130x, the most recent one (tail servo) just fell apart. This was not due to a crash, just a cheap servo. This has been a problematic helicopter but it sure is fun when it flys. Thinking of stepping up from the 130x to something more reliable. Looking at the 300x but seems like it would need a few upgrades to also make it more sound. Would the money be better spent going to something like align 450? I am an intermediant flier and am learning fast but I am just not trusting the 130x anymore.

I did the shim and it works good so far. i put around a 1.5 -2mm wide screw at the top of the elevator servo wedged between the circuit board and the airframe. and it spaces the board away from the auto tail gear just enough.. looking at the servo from the front of the heli just pry the servo forward on the right hand side and use a short screw to hold the servo forward on that side.. it doesnt affect flight either..

mof4pa1dsfet is failing on the 130x servo board?

f4pa1d mosfet?

lost the front cyclic servo,
servo barly moves in the up direction.

pulled the front servo/board, found front mosfet burnt up.
has anyone sourced these out yet? or a better mosfet?
14 easy flights, looks like we are going to see a lot of these fail.

i have a blade 130 also, 10 flights and the elevator servo died, looks like it burnt up the mosfet on the board. my drive gear is not touching the back of the board. i bought a new servo, instaled, 2 flights later it burnt up the same mosfet. anybody know of a better mosfet to replace with?
i assume that is the problem?

Horizon Hobby took care of me - replacement has ~20-30 flights now, maybe more - I ground off the edge of the metal A gear and put some packing tape over the elevator servo. theory is the servo failures *might* be caused by debris shorting out the traces. No idea if that is true. I hope the tape keeps the servo from failing. I like flying the 130X and don't want it down due to failures like this.

A lot of people think that the component that the gear is touching is the fet that is failing but it is not, the fet that is failing is next to the component that is touched by the gear. The upper fet that controls the up elevator has melted on my 130 twice, both times while just hovering, both times the elevator servo was extended all the way, both times just hovering over grass with no damage. I suspect that it is running up the elevator servo all the way and holding which is causeing the "up" fet to go up in smoke. My guess is we have a problem with the controler board. same thing happened with the new elevator servo on 2nd flight. Going to call hh monday.

Is everyone who's having servo failures using the metal gear or is it failing with the stock plastic gear too?
