Videos are hard to spot much.
that's very true, you see a heli doing all sorts of things in the air BUT you just don't know if ALL that movement was intended or not and how could you if you can't see the tx stick at the same time......

If we are all honest tail blow outs are due to the pilot not knowing the helis limits. You wouldn't take a corner in a Fiat panda at the same speed as you would in a Ferrari!

If the tail was really that bad they will have sorted it by the time it's released if they actually want to sell any!

Anyway 5 mins is pretty good. You can always refuel in less than a minute and be back in the air again!

60% of the time, it works every time!

Is the nx4 a 425 blade size heli? If so would it be heavier or lighter than say a trex 500?

It IS a 425 machine.

Nitros are typically lighter than their electric counterparts but this is not a typical 425 machine...It carries a 550 size engine so I would guess a little heavier than a Trex 500???

A typical electric 425 machine has surplus power oozing from it so a bit of extra weight should be a non issue.

Is it possible to overpower this heli? What would the largest motor be that would not interfere with the performance?

That makes sense.

Like I said, nitros are lighter than their electric counterparts.

Was not sure about the 30 size engine in a 425 though.

Remember, when I say nitros are lighter...the weight is checked with a half tank of fuel.
Many are lighter full but most are lighter at a half tank and they're ALL lighter empty

flight times range from 4 to 6 min
Just throw a 2 oz header tank on it if you want more flight time.

Damn that ground is hard! When's the right time to get out of this money sucking hobby?

Wow, I remember back in the day, a .30 sized heli was just a learners heli that barely had enough power for simple flight. I think they were called Shuttles? This size has come a long way after watching Bobby fly the crap out of that thing. I don't know the size of the old .30 helis, maybe they were bigger but still had the same engine? Maybe some old timers can shed some light on this aspect of this size heli?

The old 30's were 550's which is a 600 with a shorter boom and blades.

BIG helis for a tiny engine.

In this case,it's a big engine for a tiny heli.

This has been done before but it had a .15 engine and was a dog.

Yeah, I remember seeing an article in RC helimag regarding it a couple of years back. I think it was this one.

Half the price but far inferior equipment and performance I'm sure.

JC.. do you know how many cc/ml will the new tank be?

If you guys are shooting for 7 min,
I was wondering what ml tank is needed burning 30%

7min on 30% would be awesome!!!

Running on 15% or lower nitro for people learning that don't need as much power, would for sure get 9-10 min easy on say 10%- 15% Nitro!

Nitro Rules!!!

Cheers,
Raven

I plan on having another 12S 50 size electric this coming spring and really don't wanna give up nitro but the more I fly the 600N,the more and more it reminds me why I miss my 12S 600E.Don't have $$ to keep up on a 50 size nitro and electric but this might make it doable for me..If crash cost is about the same as a 50 size N/E ,just wouldn't be worth it at all so I hope parts are cheap...

The blades are the most expensive crash part and a pair of 425's are cheap compared to 600's.

The blades always break on a 50 too.

A 500 with 425's sometimes spares the blades in a crash.

So don't really compare the cost of each part...Wait to see what parts actually break.

I crashed my Trex 500 a LOT and it never tore up much and only broke the blades half the time.

A tip over on my 600 cost $120 minimum.
