You're not the first one to say that! I know they are heavier, but damn, they work nice. Nice and stable, pretty snappy, and again, at $7 a pop gotta like that. I have five pairs, three were balanced, two needed .1g - the tracking tape strips that come with them made the .1g.

Here's a video flying with them. I didn't have a camera man so just some hovering and fly-bys

Look like they are working fine for you.

Stiffer/lighter CF blades would give you more pop and tighter flips imho.

Also, for what you paid for your 5 sets of plastics, you could have gotten a couple of sets of decent CF's like clubheli 255mm ones ( a fellow 300x flying buddy and I are both using/loving a set of these right now).

End of the day, mainblade preference is kinda personal, so whatever works best (know a few guys who love the stock 300x woodies, lol!) for you is great imho.

Cheers,
TomC

I tried the Gaui 255's. They are nice too. I just ordered a set of MH 250's to try too.

I like how indestructible the Xtremes are. I've crashed with them and they're still perfect.

I know I am a little late to the party...

I just cured all my woes with the 130. I took it back and got the machine I should have gotten before I decided to be cheap, I will have my new 300 tomorrow! I am going to fly it as is for awhile then may see what a Skookum 540 may do for it(have 1 NIB).

The 300 is a much better heli out of the box and down the road when you can get the 500 you can pull the AR700BX off of it and you will have a killer 500. The 130 will cost you the same money in the end making the necessary upgrades that are needed and you still just have a Micro heli in the end. BTW there were some early isses with the 300 but the new ones don't seem to have. I have sold and flown many of them.

that's good to hear. maybe the initial batch of main shafts were brittle (over hardened).

69maverick, what hobby store? I used to live right down the road from Thomaston in Naugatuck and there wasn't jack for decent hobby stores around there.

I got a set of the Blade 300X specific carbon blades and they balanced fine out of the box and fly great.

I want to know where too! Currently drive to Winsted for hobby shop.

Also, the main shafts have crappy QA if you ask me. The bolt holes are about 1mm bigger than the bolts that go through them. Causes a lot of slop and unnecessary weakness. Someone needs to come out with aftermarket shaft that wasn't measured and drilled by 6yo kids in a sweat shop. Also, they need to release a frame that isn't made out of rubber, or someone needs to make aftermarket CF frame. After that it will be nice heli! Haha

the hole in the shaft is oversized???? that is fricken crazy i havent heard that before! seems like a pretty simply fix from HH. i really like the size of that heli, i wish there wasnt an issue with the main shaft. i was thinking maybe a thicker main shaft and different main shaft bearings but that would be difficult from a manufacturers standpoint. changing the hole size seems like a no brainer.

Yeah, there was exactly crap for hobby stores in the Naugatuck/Waterbury area when I lived there. But, it's been a few years. He listed his location as Thomaston, but maybe he works in another town.

No, they just need to BEAT THE EVER LIVIN' SNOT out of the sweat shop kids they already have even harder than they probably already do. They're perfectly capable of producing good shafts. Never had a single problem with a shaft for my 450 3D and 450 X. You don't read about shaft problems with those helis, either. Same for the "rubber" frames. Absolutely NO excuse for those sheeyitty parts when they can and HAVE done it right before.

I have had both since they been out and at first I liked the 300 better and still like it very much especially with the cf blades BUT, for me the 130 is perfect for in front of the house. 300 is a little sketch out front

Heavy

If you look at the weight of FBL blades to flybar blades they are heavier. This makes the FBL unit not have to work as hard. So the Plastic blades may be doing just that. I think we have some? I might try them out...

Fellas don't know how alive this thread may still be, but I have a 300X q... (btw, I'm full-on 3D w/ my 130X and am wild about it)

So it comes with woodies, eh...that'll never do

Ideally, I'd alike to stay away from black main blades on small heli's...can't see 'em!!

So, q...Blade-wise, CF-wise, what's out there? Other than the Xtremes (cool orange), are there any CF blade options for the 300X that are white?

thx fellas

Jeff

Have both, Love the both. With that said, the tail rotor drive line is to fragile on the 130 to fly off grass. That just means I have to land more precisely. The 300 can fly off the grass AND comes with a 7200BX.

In truth you can not lose either way. Both are good values.

Happy fling winging ,)
