Would you ever use (or not use) something like let's say blades or a brushless motor based solely on esthetics, for example even though one set of blades could possibly be the best you have ever used BUT they sound like two cats being raped by a lawnmower spinning from blade grips ? would you still use them ?

I like Hacker motors because they are purple. That means they are quality.

Sort of. I've been drifting the last couple weeks back into flybar partly because flybars look cool. At least to me. They're easier to see in the air also. It's mainly because I'm back to getting sick of FBL again (for the upteenth time and Im thinking about ending the torture for good now), but partially because of the appearance of flybar rotor heads.

Don't get me wrong, I love my FBL Bell rotorheads, but that rotor disk goes almost completely away soon as I go up to do aeros. My flybars, tho, I can still see a little better due to the extra ring made by the paddles.

I also like flybar heads that have the bell mixers up on the blade grip control arms, because those look extra cool...

I hate loud crappy exhaust systems on cars. They sound like crap. They may increase power but for me I would rather have the quiet. As far as rc helis, I refused to buy the trex SE v2 back in the day because I couldn't stand the blue anodizing.

Things can look nice but they MUST be for function purposes. After year 1, "bling alone" products did not tempt me as much. You or anyone in reality should be buying pure function.

But what i would like to know is kind of the other way around, you try something and it works great maybe the best you have used so far BUT it looks or sounds bad, my question is "would you still use it anyway" ???

I think I might. I did drive a Geo Metro for many years. Certainly didn't drive it to attract the girls though....

OK here is my two cents worth. I will not use Edge blades because I don't like the way they look. They are too plain looking for me and as every one knows they are a good blade. There are a lot of great performing blades on the market today so why use a set that you do not like the looks of?

If it makes my heli fly better, I'm in. I don't care to much about looks or sound (I'm an E guy).

Full disclosure: I'm a sucker for carbon fiber over plastic though ie: tail blades, frames, etc

Generally speaking, no. If something is beat down/worn out and I can get another one that functions the same but obviously looks better, I will buy a replacement so it looks new again (think muffler or canopy).

If it's something like a motor that's hidden from view, then I don't care if there are scratches and what not on it, as long as it works well or at least the way it's supposed to work.

I would like to state that I do not care for a TON of "add on" bling but I am referencing OEM parts.

I don't buy Align because I think it's a cheep imitation of quality helicopters like MA.

& because I HATE their canopy design

( however--- they seem to fly just fine, and are very affordable)
