Hi,

Ive been out of the heli game for close to 2 years now, got to the intermediate flying stage and had to give up in 2010.

Now ive got some spare time and have just purchased a used Furion 6 airframe but have noticed a lot of things have changed in the last 2 years as regards to governing your rpm.

I plan to run:

10s Hyperion lipos
yge 90hv esc
xera 4025/560 motor
v-bar/ sat ready (not sure which model)

The YGE esc description on the website has this:
•Includes support for external governors

Apparently the latest v-bars have inbuilt governors, the yge apparently also has a great inbuilt governor(similar to kontroniks). Which would be the best way to go after looking at the elctronics I wish to use governor wise?

And do I need to purchase an additional sensor that attaches to the motor or something?

Thanks guys

V-Bar gov(pro-Active) is the best on the market. All built in govs are re-active. I recently bought a 16S YGE 120HV and in the instructions it gave how to connect the ESC to the VB without an additional sensor. It works great, the soft start is a little hard though.

If you were to use say a Kontronik or Hobbywing or such, all youd need is a Hyperion phase sensor to utilize vbar gov as well.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Ok its a little clearer now.
Vbar proactive gov sounds like the go.

So the YGE esc doesnt need a seperate phase sensor and yet the Kontronik does need one to utilise vbar proactiv gov.
Would have thought it would have been the other way round as the Kontronik is by far the more expensive one of the 2?

Yes, and the Jive 120HV V11 would be the only one of the Jives recommended...
- Option to run the ESC on an external flybarless system
.

The YGE is ready to go, but I did have to build a patch cable as per instructions though, but it was very easy.
