I'm thinking about getting an OS .50 Hyper and wondering what muffler would be best, i.e. cost, performance and ease of tuning. I currently have what I think is a Muscle Pipe 2 on my OS .50SX-H. I am a sport flyer and not a stick banger.

Muscle pipe, Hatori or the old JR/KSJ pipe. Made lots of power on my .30 and works well on the .50.

Sounds like you have a MP on a hyper now. Always thought the hyper was the 50SX-H.

No it isn't the Hyper. Before the Hyper there was the 50 SX-H. The hyper is the 50SX-H Ringed Hyper Heli Engine. The only difference is the head and the carb.

I had the MP5 on my old .50 and it worked well. Sounded good, stayed where it was supposed to and I got a perfect tune out of it. I think you can go with any of the previously posted suggestions and be good.

I have 2 50SX-H hypers with the MP5 pipe. Both run very good and tune easy. One of them I originaly had a different pipe on that didn't do well. I change it over to the MP5 this spring. I'm happy with them both now.

Best pipe for power and ease of tuning is the Align pipe. Downsides are its a bit noisy and the baffles can come loose inside although I think they have sorted that problem now.

60% of the time, it works every time!

For hyper, hatori Bobby watts is just excellent; used to be pricy but if any store has it, it will be discounted for sure !

Align is a good and noisy solution but will not last; inner baffles go loose on first crash or after moderate use.

MP5 or Bobby watts editions are my choice and recommendation.
