Dave,
IS there any chance you could put up the size of the one way bearing in the gear box as I am going to replace mine next week and check my tails gears as well.
And whilst the gear box is apart I may as well replace the one way bearing.
The gear box was overhauled at Wren when I first had it, and the bearings were done, but I doubt they would have replaced the one way bearing, as it is sticking.

I agree, your gears do look in first class order and should be left alone. Just a shot of grease and close them back up..

Agreed.
I will check them every 15 hrs, after what happened to your machine just to make sure.

Flew the longranger on Sunday flew lovely as always, stable and smooth. Not much else to say really, was good to give it a couple more flights before winter sets in.
Hope this weather dries up soon.

Had a drive of Bells New Ferrari and looked over his garage, I fell in love with the Maserati.. but at £104,000:00 I think I will give it a miss. ha ha dream. My lad enjoyed it, being into cars in a big way

Bells New Ferrari
Matt, Ross's new Ferrari, that model was first registered in 1983, I suppose you meant new to him
Is Ross a car salesman now?

The Damage - The Rebuild
The result of the failed/locked Tail gearbox @ 20ft and the unavoidable heavy landing!! 395gm Carbon blades can make a real mess even when most of the inertia has been robbed..

Using the broken tail boom now to create the plug. Some major repairs and filling would make it too weak and far too heavy to put back!!

The Plug is almost complete, but.....

talking the whole thing through with Matt, about the Tail Rotor and it's location vs. main rotor direction, opinion is the tail rotor is on the wrong side of the fuz for the R/H rotation Main Blades. So I have now rebuilt the tail gearbox with the original 1:1 Ratio (no speed-up gear - the breakage of which was the reason for the original crash)

and will test the tail on the other side to see how it performs.

If this is successful, I'll rework the plug again to turn the gearbox housing over and have the rotor exit on the Starboard side of the machine (non-scale unfortunately!!)

/Limo.
