I am about to order one and would like some input. What do you guys think is the best one? Has anyone tried the HD ones?

Go pro with GoPro. Haha! It's expensive but it will do the job and more... A lot more.

A fellow flyer gave me one and I tried it on my Velocity N2. I tried velcro direct to the skids between the mounting bolts and mounted on a piece of 1/4 inch foam rubber. In both cases the vibration from the engine was too much for the camera. The video rolled in wave as if the picture was being projected on to the surface of water. Aside from that the video is pretty good in the bright sun for such a cheap camera. The picture gets grainy when the light get low like indoors.

If you wanna go cheap get one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mini-Spy-Ca...=item33772a2565

Place a bid for $0.99 and youll get it haha. I got one for a penny a few months back. But its coming from china so its gonna take a few weeks to get most likely.

I have one of the cheap $10 ones too. Like John said above no matter what I do to try to insulate the vibrations on the heli it looks like it's filming through water with waves. I am wondering if the rotor is actually creating some kind of frequency disturbance in the camera at this point? Your video actually doesn't look that bad for a keychain cam. I guess you have to put it on the heli and see how it does if your going for FPV video though.

Woops sorry, that wasn't a video from a keychain cam that you didn't order yet. I'm tired, goodnight.

I use the old #3 keychain cameras still . They run about $6 delivered from China . The True HD version is the #16 right now and runs about $40. It's hard to beat how light they are and you don't risk a lot if you crash compared to the GoPro.

I mount mine to the top of the canopy usually with velcro and then run a pc of black electrical tape over it to keep down vibrations. I find they do well in low light also . Here are two vids from my electric 550 and my nitro 50. The sunset one looks a lot brighter than it actually was that evening. I was having a hard time seeing the heli in some orientations because f such low light but the video looks quite bright . The nitro video is a little wavy but acceptable.

For a $6 cam + a cheap SD card I have no issues.

If this isn't that good, I'll order #16.

I would test that camera once and check the video quality for true HD. It is probably not going to be a true HD but upscaled 480. Just send it back if so and check this website to spot the difference .

A lot of fakes out there but if you buy from one of the listed trusted sellers you will be ok.

Key Chain Cams
MichiganFlyer,
The one you are getting is not HD. Get the HD808 #11 Or #16, I have one of each. You can remove the time stamp or both unit. The #16 is an update of the #11. The #18 supports AV ouput while recording.
