Geithner: 'Privilege of Being an American' Is Why Rich Need Higher Taxes

Feb 24, 2012 • By DANIEL HALPER

"That’s the kind of balance you need," said Geithner. "Why is that the case? Because if you don't try to generate more revenues through tax reform, if you don't ask, you know, the most fortunate Americans to bear a slightly larger burden of the privilege of being an American, then you have to -- the only way to achieve fiscal sustainability is through unacceptably deep cuts in benefits for middle class seniors, or unacceptably deep cuts in national security."

Here's the video:

My Comments: In the first place, Geithner was appointed to his position by the Obummer with a tax debt that was intentionally unpaid !!

In the 2nd place, I wonder what those almost 50% of Americans that pay NO federal taxes at all pay for THEIR privilege to be an American. Nothing, Of course. They are Obummer voters.

Liberty once lost, is lost forever.

Yep, this means so much comming from a tax cheat! Maybe if he could get the rich democrats like him to pay their taxes we wouldn't be in this fix?
Or they can cut spending, but that would be totally against why they are in DC in the first place.

Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about!
