I'm working on my IRCHA photos, but I won't have them finished until tomorrow night.

Here's a sneak peek.

(click the photo to see a full-sized version.)

TimeWarner seems to be suffering a major outage across KC and my internet at home is currently not working, so let's just hope they get it fixed before I'm ready to upload my photos.

Wow that's one of the best night shots I have seen! I want that as my desk top.

I have a real Align T-Rex 500E Pro being shipped - should be here tomorrow. I'm going to rebuild my 500 that imploded in mid-air, into hopefully something that will last longer than that clone did.

Anything I need to know about building the pro, that's significantly different from the 500? Noticed the instructions call for the ESC to be mounted under the battery tray, but unsure if that makes disconnecting the motor terribly inconvenient?

Also, my DFC head is still fine - I have a new main shaft on the way, but otherwise the rest of it is in good shape.

What about servos? Do I need to buy a set of DS510M's or will the HiTec's still work with the 500 Pro? They're quite a bit taller than the Align size.

Servo height could be a problem. Also make sure they are not damaged. It only takes one to screw everything. The CC speed control will not mount under the battery tray. Most people mount them on the side. If you mount the gyro on the top tray instead of the bottom one you will want to drill out the frame so you can put screws into the platform

Get a quality motor like a MX or scorpion. One that has been balanced. You can win one on ebay for about $65

Which servos are those that you have in the picture? They don't look like Aligns?

Those are springRC, but I changed them to Align 510's after my unexplained crash actually looked just like yours, but about 80ft in the air. I had bid on three 510m and three 510's and won them both, $128 metal and $89 lol! My limits were $130 and $90. I had already put the metal gears in the 500e.

2012 IRCHA PHOTOS ARE POSTED!
Okay guys, my photos from IRCHA are now online in my galleries. 4 pages and over 170 photos! Please click the link below to view them!

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------

Remember, below each image in the gallery are links to view the image(s) in different sizes. Make sure you click the "Original" size link if you're not seeing the largest version of the photo!

I believe that after you click the "Original" link once, it will rememeber your choice for the other photos as you browse the gallery.

At the end of the gallery are two more sub galleries... one contains a few selections of the night flying photos in "wallpaper" sizes... 1920 pixels and 1680 pixels. Again, make sure you're viewing the "original" size before saving a wallpaper to your computer or setting it as your desktop background. (They're cropped for widescreen monitors, but I can reformat them for a non-widescreen monitor by request. Just let me know.)

There's another gallery called "Large Images", which is just a few selected fireworks and night flying images that came out exceptionally well.

Enjoy!!

I got a quick flight in today, but it was a pain. The light is just too much without sunglasses and with glasses was too dark. I need to get another set right in the middle lol!

Funny! I went out with the 500pro (NO WIND) took the 450 out of the case (BLOWING CRAZY) I took that as a sign and put it back in the box.

I had to make a new file in my pictures called Photo Artist: Darren Berkey, Colored sky. So I could set up my background slide show.

Got some great flying in today. Got the 450 about 6ft off the ground inverted, but still had to power out and up before flipping it back. Michael got there and I asked him to take it up which was extremely nice that away I could see what it was doing and what needs to be adjusted.

Sunday flying...
Looks like I'll be taking advantage of the sunny weather on Sunday and go down to Minor Park for an afternoon of flying!

Monday looks nice too, although a bit warmer than Sunday. Maybe I'll come out both days... ya never know.

Heck, I'm waffling about flying tonight! It looks awesome out there - its a little warm, but there's definitely ZERO wind at the moment!

I was going to go tonight, but I forgot to charge up my batts last night. Even with a balance board, I won't have enough time to charge a worthwhile number of them and make it out before the sun gets too low. Meh.
