Thank you guys!
Fantastic day! Great seeing everyone at the field and getting some good flying! Thank you for the kind words on the big Gob guys!

Some more tuning is necessary... The big monster is not yet optimally tuned... This will keep me thinking... and busy!

Looking forward to more days like today!

Talking wouldn't of changed anything lol! I plan to bring the Logo with me tomorrow. This will be a maiden because I have never used this controller before and the heli has not flown sence it's crash. Most of the time I at least test these on my 450. Should be exciting lol! bring your helmets!

Have fun while it last!

Big Gob
Some progress this morning with the big Gob. I adjusted the ESC settings: motor timing from Automatic to 5 deg and I reset the Auto Cut Off limit. Things seem to be working better: no cutoff with a flat 95% throttle curve. Hopefully the big boy has become aerobatic. We will see this afternoon

Are you using a scorpion? I thought they recommended 18 degree.
That depends on the speed control, CC scorpion recommends 5, but just about every other controller says 18 for a scorp.

Got some good news! There was nothing wrong with the logo, just the pilot lol! I had the throttle curve normal 0-100 for programming the speed control. At hover it was most likely at 65% with 550 blades 1500rpm. That is why it was bobbing. It the back yard I went into idle up 100, 95, 90, 95, 100 and it was completely smooth. Even at that it is only spinning 1900 a little slow for 550.

I was lucky with the Goblin. After taking the gear out it looked just like a hairline crack, but the metal in the middle was loose. Ordered a lynx http://www.amainhobbies.com/product...in-Gear-Set-Red

to replace it. Duckblind you may want to look into one as well as soon as you start hitting it hard. Definitely make it a checking point before and after flights.

Have fun while it last!

Big Gob came to life today
Glad to hear good news Micah!

For me, the Big Gob came to life today: the motor timing change unleashed the monster... Tons of power to be tamed, but still some tail wag... And as always, Micah, you were right... When I came home, I tried again to take the tail appart but, this time, applied more force. The tail blade holder came appart and nothing broke. I put it back together properly, that is with the thrust bearing parts in the right order, and the play is gone! I hope this means no tail wag anymore next time

Have a great week everyone!

Hope that takes care of your tail issue Pascal.
