I'm fixing to get a 450 pro v2 with the 3gx... I've seen a lot of post about the unit resetting but most are older... Is this still a problem or anything else I should check before flying? I did see the possible fix on YouTube and had planned to sand the chrome off as a precaution

This unit is radio dependent.

It will not work with a JR radio that does not have model match, regardless of how you configure the sats.

I have been flying the 3GX with no issues and neither should you. as far as I have read no one has actually caused a reset from static on the case. Most cases were either insufficient voltage from a bec, radio issues or lastly there were a few manufacturer cases were there was metal contact on the circuit board. Which I have heard has been fixed. Hope that helps.

Ok kool, ya I saw a video on YouTube of a guy charging himself with static then resetting the 3gx because the top of the case was chromed on the back, he sanded it and it fixed it.. Good to hear it was fixed

It flies great, 3GX 2.0 flies WAY better than the CGY750 1.2 anyday, but It could have taken my head off when it reset. I'll just stick to BeastX and VBar save my self the trouble.

Zaneman, ref your comment about non model match JR radio and sat setup. I have a 9303 with 2.4 module. After beating myself between the eyes trying to get the thing to bind I finally came across a thread somewhere else with the solution. Bind the sat's individually using another rx such as an AR7000. You have to do this with each sat so have to do it twice, a pain, I know. Then just plug the sats into the 3gx and works like a champ. After I finished my setup I went through the bind procedure again just to bind with new settings from setup. Hope that helps someone else. Been flying my protos 500 with no issues thus far. Love the way the unit flys but did have a brand new one hardover on my 2nd flight in my X50 which was a big bummer. Waiting to hear from Assurance RC if there was an issue with the board.

Don't Fly
Dude,

DON'T FLY. It is a ticking time bomb. The unit will unbind. I spoke with assurance and they informed my that it will not work. I did the AR7000 bind and then swapped out the sats. It was just a matter of time before the unit started blinking due to signal loss. You may get away with a few flights then bam, NO LINK.

There is nothing wrong with your unit. It just lost the bind. Lucky for me, mine did it on the bench. When it lost bind the servos went hard left way beyond the limits set, not pretty. And since it will no longer recognize you radio, there is no chance in h#ll that it will re-connect.

If you plan on using the 3Gx, I'd recommend getting a new radio, it will be cheaper in the long run.

I now have a Futaba 8FG super.

Just my opinion.

Not abandoning ship. Still running it on my protos 500 and love the unit. Decided to put the Vbar on the X-50 to get it flying while I get the unit checked out but will probably end up in a different heli when it returns. Just thought I'd try another unit to see what the differences are. I have 2 3g's and 2 3gx's

Hey.

Can I also add that binding the sats with another receiver will not have set your failsafe positions correctly for the 3GX. If you have a lock out, your model could potentially still fly along at full power.
