It happened the other day; I use a foldable table at the field to prep and work on my helis! I was going to adjust my V-Bar, so out comes the laptop! Well it’s hard to see in direct sun, so I pull the table with my heli and laptop into the shade of my back door of my auto, when one leg on the table folds! OK I have 3 nano seconds to make a price comparison and save just one from its gravitational induced doom. With many extra parts on hand; I can fix the heli, not so with the laptop! So I grab the laptop and OTS (over the side) goes the heli. The only thing that happened when it hit the asphalt parking lot was to dent my 2 flights old FunTech pipe! Ouch, but not too bad, just nicks on a small dent on the side of the front dome. Here’s the cool part of this, as per urban legend states, I filled the pipe with water and placed it into the freezer! About 24 hours later the wife asks if I crashed in the kitchen, because there are heli parts in the freezer! Woops I might have forgotten it in there for a day or so longer! To my surprise the dent was almost completely pushed back to the original shape! With a little Mothers metal polishing compound, and some elbow grease, it is almost un-noticeable! Might keep this in mind if the need ever arises, and yes next time the wife might be asking why the laptop is in the freezer..
