Anyone running one of these? I'm thinking of building one and would like some feedback. I'm thinking about doing the helibug gasser conversion. Thanks

I'm in the process of building one, I'll probably be done in a couple of weeks. I'll let you know how it goes. The only thing I'm not sure of is the headspeed. I ran 1200 on the Vario Benzin with 825's. I'm guessing it'll be around that on the TREX for sport flying.

This will be more of a photoship project so low head speed will most likely be run. If you could post some pics that would be great, I'm sure there are others thinking of this conversion

There's not much to the conversion, it's pretty straight forward. Take a look at HB's site and you'll see sequential photos of the conversion.

Mine was a little more difficult since I converted a 700E F3C. Most of the guts were different.

To stretch it out for the 800mm blades, I just bought the tail upgrade sold by Align to accommodate the 800 blades.

I've got my airframe almost complete and will share pics tomorrow. This thing looks great and hopefully flies just as well

There is a Mercury conversion by HB. It uses the stock pinion with 8.2 GR. This gives a HS up to 1550 which seems to be fine. I would consider this kit if i were you.

Edit: It will give you like 30-45 minutes of flight time. Perfect length for air photography.
