We had some warmer weather today so I pulled out my spectra and when I unfolded the blades one of gray links broke off where it goes around the ball. I wasn't sure what to think but after looking at the piece that broke it seemed brittle and I was able to crack it again fairly easily. Anyway I figured I would replace it but when I poped the other end of the link off it broke off. Now I am going to be replacing all the links. Just thought I would send out a warning to some of you guys to tell you to check your links especially if they are grey and older. Mine are probably 7 years old. And they are grey. The black ones don't seem to be breaking like the grey ones are.

7 years old is pretty old for a wear item like a ball link. I would do some maintenance and replace all links and other old wear items.

I agree. Especially on a gasser. I would repack the bearings also.
