That is great. Quite a bit of testing has been done prior to the release. Don't hesitate to pick one up.

cool have 2 on order now to make my 550 FBL and 250 too can`t wait to get it !

i doubt that this unit will have serious problems, the Beast X and the Spektrum 7000 series RX are both pretty mature things and they are now just crammed into one box.

Wave -- I would imagine that the majority of DSM2 receivers flown the world over since the release of DSM2 technology have been Spektrum receviers. That has to be millions of uneventful flights.

Even the JR folk who somehow insist on telling the world that JR is higher quality than Spektrum end up flying Spektrum receivers in everything they own. Spektrum has a wide array of DSM2/DSMX receivers on the market, in all sorts of form factors, including the ever popular AR7100R with a built-in RevLimiter that works very well.

I've been flying over a dozen Spektrum receivers for several years, and never once had a radio-related problem.

The receiver technology in the 7200BX is proven. The Microbeast is probably the most popular FBL controller out there (maybe giving the Vbar a good run for its money). If there is anything wrong with the programming, it would have to be the MICROBEAST programming that is faulty, not the receiver. Go bash the Beastx people if you must. See how popular that makes you.

I cannot fully understand the mentality of people who constantly keep beating a dead horse in forums like this. Repeated random bashing of products really gets old after awhile, adds nothing to the dialogue, and doesn't make the fellow behind the post look very intelligent.

dkshema, I simply questioned the assertion of a product pimp in a marketing thread, and you get all hot and bothered.

Until such time as this product is fully tested by the average joe flier under real world conditions, then as with any new product it is not wise to be an early adopter.

I am sure your nice Horizon Hobby ass kissing response may earn you a freebie though...Good job.
See how popular that makes you.
Ahhh...its a popularity contest is it. Thanks for clearing that up.

Me....I just tell it like it is.

If I remember correctly, Bert did test it (check out his facebook) and Bert is using DX-8. So, I would think the answer to your question is Yes.

It has been tested by average Joe modelers too. We have a guy in our club that's had it for months under cloak. He doesn't do 3D and he tests all types Spektrum products and reports back. They have plenty of pro 3D guys to stick bang their products, but also want the average Joe to come up with questions and problems a pro wouldn't see or care about.

I ordered two in Sept/11 from my LHS when HH said they were shipping in Nov/11. After waiting two months HH then pushed it to mid Jan/12 and later late Jan/12. I cancelled my order and bought 4 other FBL systems instead. It's a great compact unit and I wished I had 4 of them but I couldn't wait.

I have to say I have just got mine and I can't calibrate my CC Ice Lite 100 with it. (See thread here: http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=379594 and https://rc.runryder.com/helicopter/t681927p1/) Think I will have to calibrate using another receiver and then swap it back. Not ideal.

On a positive side it does make the wiring look very sweet!

Odd, since the throttle channel really has nothing to do with the programming. It should be pretty much a pass-through from your TX to your ESC or a servo plugged into the throttle channel.

Plug a servo into the throttle channel and see how it moves when you move the throttle stick, and take a look at your TX monitor channel, and the movement of the throttle slider as you move the throttle stick.

Have you gotten the ICE into the fixed throttle mode, so you CAN go ahead and calibrate it? If not, that would be where to start.

Wave -- for the record, I don't "get freebies" from Horizon. NO more than you get freebies from Great Planes for dumping on Spektrum.

Frankly, I don't get freebies from ANYONE for discussing their product...and usually, no one else does, either.

I don't think Rudyy is a product pimp, either. People have been waiting for the AR7200BX to be available ever since the product was teased months ago. Many people simply wish to be the first to be the bearers of good news.

So -- did you plug a servo into the throttle channel and see what it does?
