I have flown them on two different machines at my local field but do not own a set. Loading the batteries from the back with out removing the canopy has some advantages and disadvantages.

One of the main features I like about this setup is the location of the elevator servo. The stock frames puts it in the worst possible place for working on, at least if you have normal sized fingers. I have stripped out an elevator servo and let my heli sit for a week before I had the motivation to work with that servo. This setup simply requires you remove the ESC tray and a few bolts.

Another notable part of the kit is the carbon battery tray so far on both setups required a little extra sanding on the sides of the tray in order to get it to slide in nicely. Both people also placed a piece of fuel tubing around the finger hole on the tray, pulling the batteries out with the cardon right on your finger tends to hurt after a day at the field.

Man that looks soo much stronger! Why Align chose to use such big cutouts in the frame ill never know, it saves probably about 10g and makes it so much weaker!

60% of the time, it works every time!

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like it is a lot easier to get the lipos in and out from the back. I also like the extended rails that support the front lipo (something Align has yet to figure out)

Chanceyman, did the people you are referring to have the original RES frames or the V2? I’m wondering because the back of the lipo trays looks like it has been reworked to eliminate the “pain” lol. I'm just wondering so I know what to expect

I am not 100% positive but I believe they are the most current set. I will try and verify tomorrow at the field though. They just put the fuel tubing as a form of padding to keep their fingers off the raw carbon fiber is all. Even with the fiel tubing they are still an awesome design and a really nice upgrade.

For anyone who was curious, I confirmed today, they are flying the latest kit and again they love them, just added some fuel tubing to the battery tray finger hole.
