I don't hear much about this bird. But with a price like that, I can't imagine the G4 is selling like crazy. The crash/repair cost is out of sight for most people in this hobby as well.

How many raptor fans out there have bought this helicopter and are really putting it through it's paces?

Not yet yet but I plan on getting 2 of them (I like to have pairs) as soon as I finish my second KDE/Custom heli parts 700.
They are a high end heli and not the cheapest but it is only a matter of time before the after market are replicating expensive parts like frames! RCT already do frames for the X50 so I suspect they will be all over the G4 too!

I have just setup a G4 (Cheers NitroAl for posting the video of mine above). I will start by saying that I agree it isnt the cheapest heli out there BUT you do get what you pay for.

The kit quality is brilliants with very little plastic used & all metal parts being high quality CNC. The build is very smooth with the fit of the parts being 100% perfect in my kit.

I have now done about 15 flights on mine & have to say it is quite possibly the smoothest heli I have owned. It has heaps of collective power & stops on a dime. In the air it feels so locked in & tight.

All in all I am very happy with mine. The price is high but worth it IMO.

G4's
I am putting my 1st TT Nitro G4 together. Once that is done I will be starting on my 2nd. So far, I can only say WOW. The kit is packaged nicely. Parts are a perfect fit. Quality is the best I have seen so far

YS 120
Is it true that the G4 fan won't fit the YS120? I hear that the thread on the YS is slightly different, can't really understand why. I am very close to ordering the G4 nitro, I just can't decide whether to go for the YS120 or the OS105. Unfortunately there's still not enough reports on both these engines to make a decision. I guess my head says go for the OS as I run 2 OS55s in a pair of Raptors and they have never skipped a beat.

G4
I have a brand new nitro fbl kit and I am currently trying to decide what engine to run and weather or not to go with the gt5 or cgy750. As far as pricing goes it's still way less than a Hirobo if u can find one in the US.

I am in the same boat. After my experiences with the RL53 that came with my Titan SE I have been put off the RL motors, I have had much more success with OS. My thoughts are that the YS120 seems to be the most powerful, but my gut feel is that the OS is likely to be easier to tune and may run smoother (less vibes). It's a nice dilemma to have, but both are a heck of a lot of money and I don't want to rush into the wrong decision. To make matters worse there's a nagging thought in my head that perhaps now is the time to go electric!

Flying my G4 once a week at minimum. Running a YS 91, CGY750, Hitec 7940THs. This machine is very surely the best flying machine I have ever grabbed sticks on. I like it so much I am considering buying a e720 as well.

I'm glad I started this thread. Didn't mean to sound so whiny about the price, just wanted opinions. Good to see so many enjoying this helicopter. I hope to e picking one up later this year. Can hardly wait.

Anyone buying the Raptor 90-G4?
I picked up my Rapor G4 nitro today. Looks to be a very nice kit. I got an O.S.105H-ZR, Hatori pipe, and Gy750. I'm looking foward to flying this baby, it's a little expensive but I'm sure it's worth it. Ken

I've been messing with Heli's for twenty years and I've had nice heli's but its the first time I've had the money to go first rate on everything, can't tell you how happy and lucky I feel with my purchase and I would not have known anything about the G4 if it wasn't for you guys on Runryder, I was going to get an Avant Aurora. Thanks everyone. Ken

I've just finished building the X50 Torque Tube Version and I'm almost finsihed the G4 Flybarless Nitro. Treated myself to two new heli's this winter.

Looking forward to finishing the G4 and getting it some airtiume.

A construction thread can be seen here for those interested in that kind of stuff.

I am heavily invested time and money both in the Raptor 60/90 and am put off by the high price of the G4 kit. HOWEVER, when you start cranking up a stock 60/90 kit the upgrade costs mount quickly and soon it doesn't seem so bad to buy a G4 and work with all new perfectly fitting parts.

Since I just fell into an amazing deal for a new YS120 and new Hatori pipe ($425.00) and a new CGY 750 for ($259.00) I'm really thinking about a G4, but dang they are expensive and the parts are a tad bit high. For those of you who now have some flight time with the G4 does it fly so good that it merits the price point? What is the all up weight on the model with electronics, blades and motor, pipe and canopy?????

Thanks
