maybe the Fusion 50 or Titan X50E because you don't have to take the canopy off to replace the battery..

Mikado Logo 600. Just the simplicity of the design and how light and durable a plastic frame really is.

If my wife had another job I'd have more Helicopters

The MA Fury's changed the whole market when they came out. It was so popular, that most manufactures had to go with similar servo set ups just to try to keep up. But my all time fave would have to be the MA Ion X. It was revolutionary too!

SHAPE 9.0 and Kamsami Simrok 90E

The shape for its utter beautiful frame, low stance, logical layout, super low profile head, carved aluminum structure pieces and sculptured canopy.
The Simrok 90E because of the intricate design, its over the top engineering (servo plates that protect servo in crashes,)and great head and mechanical design as well.

"Compass 7HV" LOL with that cheap tail design.

personally I think most designs are pretty dire.

and the ones that are good designs are overlooked.

it's more about marketing than technical excellence now. the fact that it's easier now to design a good flying heli doesn't help matters when it comes to distinguishing what's good and what's bad.

There have been many great designs over time

If I was to guess which one made the most impact within their time, I would have to say the 1st Collective Schluter Heli Boy is at the top of my list.
Later, Miniature’s 1987 Xcells followed by the Fury’s

Then came the advent of the cheaper helicopter for the masses, and the Raptor’s V1 and v2s ruled the airfields and made RC heli flying more attainable.

I would argue that although the advent of the Trex 450, and subsequent Trex family, has been a game changer due to their marketing, I never considered a good design as the models seem to be upgraded weekly and that story never ends.

Today “my” favorite designs are:

Trainer: Raptor 30 and 50v2
Pure 3D: Logo 600 and Compass 7HV
Best 3D with flybar: Avant Aurora
FAI and sport: TT G4 720e
Pure FAI: JR Sylphide e12
Speed and agility: Minicopter Diabolo

The Shape 9 and TDR get honorable mentions.
