Most rich people don't mind paying the taxes they are paying. There is a lot of them that would not mind paying more.

What they object to is that nothing is being done about the waste, fraud and totally out of control spending.

Reportedly, his income was a little over $21 million for 2010.

He paid over $3 million in taxes on that income.
and this suck azz will not release any record before 2010 what is he hiding. he'll release those tax or dont run for president.
How much in taxes should he pay?

$3.5 million?
$5 million?
$8 million?
$10 million?

You are just a uneducated and misinformed (lied to) Democrat who buys into the Democrat bullsh#t that the rich need to be punished by paying their "Fair Share" while over 40% of Americans pay no fed taxes at all. In addition, the more the rich pay over and above what they are already paying into a wasteful and fraud infected federal government, the less that will be invested in America by the rich, and the harder that will be on everyone else.

Idiot.

Romney's tax rate is set by the type of income he has.

By far, the lions share of his income is from his investments. That means he pays "Capital Gains" taxes. "Capital Gains" tax rate is 15%. Ultimately, his tax rate was reduced to 14% because of his charitable contributions. Mostly his tithing to his church.

Your friend that won the lottery is taxed at a different rate because his winnings was not from his investments.

Thats the way it is.

Most repubs that are running now are running on a "fair Tax" system where everyone pays an equal percentage. The Dems want nothing to do with a "Fair Tax" system because they wish to manipulate the system as it is.

A tax imposed on the privilege of receiving property by inheritance or legal succession and assessed on the value of the property received. Also called death tax.
A tax imposed by a state based on the privilege of an heir to receive the assets of a deceased person. In other words, an inheritance tax is based on.

This is all i understand about death tax estate, our tax code is broken, it's unfair for folk not to pay and those who write the tax
laws to be exempt, and the rich exclude themself.
It's not right, are sheltering too???????

so you're OK with when you die, the government takes over 1/2 of your money instead of your family getting it all??? Remember, you paid taxes on that money when you made it already and you've paid taxes on the money it's earned all along. Now, for the privilege of dieing, they get to take over half of what you have built your whole life, from your family. That's OK with you???

WHAT A LOT HE'S GOT ROMNEY TO REVEAL 42.5 MILLION OVER 2YEARS
WASHINGTON -- Mitt Romney disclosed early on Tuesday that he expects his tax bill to come to $6.2 million on income of $42.5 million the last two years, succumbing to public pressure to shed light on how he became one of the wealthiest Americans ever to run for president.

The Republican Romney, who earned most of his wealth after co-founding private equity firm Bain Capital, bowed to weeks of public pressure by disclosing his 2010 federal tax return and a tax estimate for 2011.

Romney paid an effective tax rate of 13.9 percent on $21.6 million in 2010 income and expects to pay 15.4 percent on $20.9 million in 2011 income, his campaign said. He said previously that he estimates his net worth at $190 million to $250 million.

Did she just put a dollars in the bell ringer pan??? what a disgrace.

His surging rival for the Republican presidential nomination, Newt Gingrich, released a form 1040 - the standard income-reporting form for American taxpayers - with attachments last week, showing his income for the year was about $3.1 million and his effective tax rate more than 31 percent. Some sources of Gingrich's income were unclear because he earns most of his wealth through a holding company for enterprises such as his consulting and production companies.

Romney did not release tax returns from his time at Bain Capital. Romney co-founded the firm in 1984 and worked there until 1999. Tax returns from those years might show how Romney built the bulk of his fortune and would provide a more comprehensive picture of his wealth but the campaign said it would not be releasing them.

Romney's campaign lawyer Ben Ginsberg told reporters late on Monday: "Frankly we're not going to get into the game of once you give them something, you demand more. This is a fulsome release and we are very proud of it."

So, you would rather see American oil transported on rails through our country side than transporting it through a pipeline that is stationary?

First off, transporting oil by rail is more expensive than transporting it by pipeline.

Second, transporting oil via pipeline is far safer than transporting it via rail.

14 % of taxes made from so called capital gains is petty considering he does almost nothing to earn (insider trading)it. I Just can't see how this kind of money being made can continue without a full collapse of the system. Once the middle class is drained, all is done.
