Hope those of you who have pre-registered had no issues and all is good. Had a few emails and PM's from people interesed in attending for their first time and wanted to know what they get. Those who have attended in the past knows that you get alot for attending. Last year we had rain but I think people still were happy. So here is what you will have at the funfly.

First of all a great time. We have a beautiful facility and one the owners of the site really enjoy our event. This is held at a full size airport that is closed to full scale traffic for our event. The pilot boxes are setup to be about 200 feet in width, giving you plenty of room without having to worry about crossing over into another pilots space (or their crossing into yours).

But let's get into the really good stuff. Your entry fee provides you lunch AND dinner on Saturday and for those who stay on Sunday coffee and pasteries in the morning. Lunch is not your typical hotdog, no we feed you a great barbecue meal. Lunch will be pulled pork sandwiches, baked beans and a drink. Dinner will either be 1/2 a chicken or BBQ ribs (working those details now), mac & cheese, dessert, and a soda.

LOL but wait there is more (haha I had to say that...). You get a very special and unique event shirt, pilot ID card, and raffle tickets for the pilot raffle. Our pilot raffle is a little unique as well. Most of the prizes donated by our event supports go into the pilot raffle. We don't sell extra tickets for the pilot raffle, we go through all of the tickets AT LEAST ONCE, based on how fortunate we are from the supporters. Once we have gone through all the pilots, if we have any prizes left, we go back through them again.

The only tickets we sell are for the grand prize raffle which is open to the pilots as well as the general public. This is usually a helicopter kit.

The reason we do a pre-registration is to know how many shirts and sizes we need to have. Also, these unique shirts are NOT screen printed and the company we use needs to have time to make them. When you see them you will understand why.

One last question I was asked was why to purchase an extra shirt costs more the the pre-registration price when pre-reg also includes food and other things. The answer to this is simple, we receive support from some of our local businesses for the event so really they are contributing to your flying. This way we can keep the entry fee low and help all of you out given the economy.

Hopefully this answers everyone's questions :-). And yes I am hoping we have BEAUTIFUL weather for this year.

See you all there and if you have any questions feel free to PM or email me.

I look forward to it. Maybe my 10yr old can dazzle everyone with some hover practice and if your lucky he maybe doing some orientation practice too.
Yep, I preregistered him for the event. Asked for a shirt size for my wife as that is what she wanted.
I was wondering how what we recieve for preregistering was covered because we get so much for a small fee. Hats off to everyone donating and sponsoring the event.

Yes we are lucky the community helps out. We (MMRCHA) puts on the event because we like to fly helicopters and want to share it with others. For us it is not a money making event, just a great way to share the passion of helis.

The airport people are absolutely fantastic. They handle all of the paperwork with the FAA and NTSB to close the airport down. The put the markings down on the runway to signify the airport is closed and issue the proper NOTAMS. They also cut, roll and prep the WHOLE airport for us and all they ask is that we have a great time. They even open up the hangers to show the joys of aviation as well.

We all have a great time and look forward to seeing you there. Michflyer...isn't your son going to be upset not having an event shirt :-).

See you then

Oh trust me he will fly too. By event time I will have him doing boxes and orientation practice with the 450. Not to mention all the flight he will do with the mCPx.
All the funflys we attended last year were nice enough to not have him pay but I registered him and he flew his mCPx. Quite well too I may add. I thank them for letting him fly.
I look forward to him feeling more a part of the R/C Heli community this year.
Thank You!

For everyone else. Get involved and attend a Fun Fly as a pilot. Get your kids involved if they are interested. I was a pilot at a fun fly just 2 weeks after I learned to hover. I just hovered, did boxes and had a great time.

Fun Flys aren't just for the experienced pilots the are for everyone!

Pre-Registration Close Date April 15th
I spoke with the company that makes our event shirt and got the latest possible date from the to have our shirts in time for the Funfly.

So at 11:59 pm on April 15th, pre-registration will close and on the 16th our shirt order will be forwarded.

Make sure the pre-register if you even think you may attend so that you can get one of these really cool shirts. We may have a few extra is we have to round out the order but there is no guarantee on number or sizes.

See you all then!!!
