+1 on what Carey said.

I am running the identical setup with Align DS650's on tail/throttle and both are stepped down.

I'm having a custom RC engine built for this whiplash, it has a reed valve conversion for more power, but the carb gets rotated 90 degrees.. do you think this will be an issue with the throttle linkage?
Which way does the carb rotate? If it's 90 clockwise a bellcrank on the frame will likely take care of it. Couter clockwise might get more involved (there's less frame in front) but we can figure out something. On the stock frame the servo sits behind the carb with a short linkage running forward.

Mike, how do you change gauge wire from the deans on your flight lipo to the small plugs for the receiver? This is more aimed at a nitro setup.. Cheers.

Bellcrank would work, it's a clockwise rotation. if the servo sits behind the carb as opposed to in front like the spectra g, then all will be good to go......... Thanks for the reply Chris!

So is the nitro whip close to shipping or did something hold it up? Just curious, the sooner we get the nitro out and the elec version caught up, the sooner I can get my gasser..... Just looking for an update, not whining, crying, or b$^^%ing.... anyone know?

I'm glad I went with the HB conversion instead of the Whip G, I'll be ready for the maiden next week. The Whip G will probably be a while before its out.

We should get a pool going. I say three more weeks. Two more weeks for the vendors to get them and a week after that for us to get them. Who ever guesses correctly gets a custom whiplash blade holder.

While we want to get the models out just as much, if not worse than you want them we will not for one second release a model that we feel is not 110% the best it can be.

Your not paying money to be beta testers.

We fully expect dealers to have kits by the end of this month.
This was January
Stores should have them in a week or so
This was two weeks ago.

Mike Fortin, you really should not give these statements.

Hey mike, I'm in no hurry to get my whip. I have a sw fish tank to keep me busy until it is ready. I totally get what you mean about beta testing... Been there, done that, won't ever, ever do that again! I'm still deciding wether I want to go Futaba HV on cyclic servos or not and what other misc electronics I want to use and fbl blades.

I am using Futaba 255HV's and the CGY750. I'm also running Mavrikk 690 G5 FBL Blades.

An all HV setup is what I reccomend.

All of my equipment is listed on my website http://www.IHateMikeFortin.com

If you or anyone else have questions of any sort just let me know.

I'm wanting to get the HV set-up. I bought the 750 for the whip already. I bought 2 750's when they first came out. One for my fury 55 and the other for the whip. So 690's are the blades to run on the whip then?

This was not a bash on whiplash not being here yet, sh%t happens and things get pushed back.... I just wondered if something happened to hold up the shipment... apparently something DID because it hasnt shipped yet and has been in testing over the last couple weeks...

Until a product ships anything can go wrong to delay it, i.e. The print shop that does the instructions catches fire and burns down..

And I think we all understand how Murphy's law works, if you don't you haven't been flying very long..

That is why I structured the question as to not require a ship date, all I asked was if something happened to hold up the progress. I will infer from the replies that the answer is "YES"
and now the debate over what it could be.......begins.

As my wise Dad used to answer when asked (when will we be there?) his reply "not a second before we arrive"

Mike, I noticed on your whip(on your site) that you have the rcbooya mounts on the back but not the front. Is it still like this or have you changed it? Does using the aftermarket mounts negate the break away tabs?

they will be worth the wait. we have both a nitro and e flying at our field and they are rock solid.

have almost 100 flights on my e and have had zero issues. zero maintenance required.

the best designed and built mainstream heli i've seen or flown in 15 years without a doubt.
