I have a Thunder AC6 charger and this morning I was charging my batteries, everything was OK until I tried the 3rd pack and the buzzer went off; On the display screen says SHORT ERR.
I went to the book it says "there was a short-circuit at OUTPUT . Check the charging leads".
I checked all the solder joints and re-solder from the leads.
Any more ideas?

check the balance leads depending on the cell count one of them is not making good contact , you will have to unwrap the top end that protects them and there you will see each .

What are you using to power the charger?

Is this charger:
http://www.xheli.com/thunder-ac6-charger-power.html

It powers up, it goes through all the process and when is time to charge or balance, the buzzer goes off indicating error on the display screen.
I remember that when I was using the charger the power went off for a second and then came back on.
The charger is like this since the power went off; I don't want to think that is gone.

Also, if I don't plug a battery and push the "charge" button the buzzer doesn't goes off and starts charging with out battery plugged in.

Just asked because on some chargers, you get a Short Error because either the battery or power supply you are using to power the charger from isn't putting out enough voltage.

Mr Dan,

Will try

I'll let you know.

EDIT:
Man, It won't power on now!

Dang my hobby is gone if I don't have a charger !!

I'm going to open it up and see if I can fix it,

EDIT:
I found a bad capacitor.
Hopefully that's what it is, $3.00 fix.

Hope that Cap is the probelem, pretty sure it is. Just be sure to replace it with the same capasity or bigger, never smaller. I been useing My Thunder AC6 off/on for nearly two years. I charge (Lipos 2200's/800),(AA's-Ni-cd/Ni-mh), (Lead Acid), Scooter and Lawnmower batterys. Not a single Hickup YET!!!

RCSHF,
Thank you but I received the CAP today and still the same.
This charger is gone, too bad.
Well, I know that is a good charger, after 3 years of service is going for parts.

Thank you all for your reply and Merry Christmas !

Wanna get a real good one? Get a ThunderPower 1010C I had one long time ago. Damn good charger. The Balancer has to be bought sperate. But it's a heck of a rig.

RCHSF,

WOW, it is a little bit up of what I can afford right now.
I'm thinking on gettin' an Icharger208B with a 350W power supply.
I don't see me charging a 8s battery on the near future, maybe a 6s for a Trex 500.

RCHSF, I guess that's a good charger but out of my budget.

Unless I hit the Jackpot; Somebody is celebrating big time here in NC $164.000.000.00.

That's a heck of a present.
