Since this is just a 450, I figured that this would be a good test bench to do BEFORE I would jump into my 500 size MD500D build....learning what I can on this one, such as the use of Gold-N-Rod, and a multi-Blade rotor. I had to add some weight in the nose to balance out the CG. I forgot that in the process of rebuilding the tail boom after the crash, I added some fiberglass and bondo which made it tail heavy! Almost ready for decals, lights, clear coat and some windows. Hands were shaking a little, cause the temp was around 28 degrees today (12/16/11)!

I'm experimenting with some clear and green enamel in order to tint the top two windows on the conopy.

Note: RCA now has a 500 size Bell 212 in Blue and Red paint scheme. An unpainted version is due around Feb or March........just wish they had those a year ago!

Looks like your hard work paid off and you have a nice flying scaler.

Yes... as a matter of fact, its the same head. I had to replace 2 blade grips, and three links rods from the crash!

It would fly even better if the mounting platform was level!...instead of leaning to the left, and down in the front. Guess I'll have to break out the shims!
