I am using the 300mah Micro-Heli packs. Yes, it is a fun little guy!!! I flew mine 4 times this morning working on nose in stuff. It is the best thing since simulators.

Agreed! I have been taking this to work and flying in a little grass field next to our parking lot at lunch. Wonderful diversion from the hours at the desk.

I have 4 of the stock packs, plus 4 of the Hyperion 250's. The Hyperions seem to have a tiny bit more "punch", but that is subjective. I don't think I'm getting much, if any, more flight time out of them. They are a little cheaper though.

I set my timer on my DX7 for 6 minutes and I usually deplete the pack very shortly thereafter. I'm new to electrics (flew nitros for several years, then took last few years off), but I'm guessing that running the pack that low (til it drops out fo the air) is not good for it, so I just switched my flight timer to 5:30. My flying style is mostly smooth forward flight, but I am doing more and more flips and some backwards flight as I get back into the groove and get my brain/fingers trained again.

I understand some of the hard 3D flyers are only getting 3 minutes or so, but they're obviously pushing this little bird a lot harder than I am.

Ive been flying mine for 4 minutes, seems like power drops off then so I just figure it's time to charge. I am always anal about not over discharging lipos, wether they are 1s or 12s.

I just orders some Spyder packs - they seem to get good reviews by those that have tried several brands and talk about them on the forums. I'll write up my experience once I have some.

I did fly someone elses Thunder power 25C pack and it did about as well as the brand new 30C stock packs that came with my mCPx Version 2. I tried a Nano-tech pack that may have been a bit old, it was not good. The newer 30C stock packs are noticeably better than the stock 20C packs.

All lipo's are sensitive to over-discharge. I think these little packs are even more sensitive. If you want them to last longer don't discharge them below 3.7V.

btw - replace the tail blades with the newer style that comes with the version 2 kit. Noticed a better tail with other club members mCPx's when we did that. - you have the older style tail blades in that picture.

Had about 200 flights on mine before the motor lost power. Consider the hotglue over the linkage guides mod. I went through alot of linkages this summer and only understood the mod recently. Went through a few sets of landing gears too. Course I would beary it in a full speed from 20' or so trying something as a newbie. I have gone through 6' of carbon fiber rod too for the tail boom mod. If flying outside, get yourself a few main gears. after a few crashes they start slipping off the shaft easily and are hard to find in grass.
I now have a solid carbon main shaft with the gear CA'ed on and have had no problems with it.
Have Fun! I love mine!

Have linkages and trex 250 boom supports on hand. The boom Supports work great as a replacement boom on the blade. Also, when you replace the boom, you can make it about an inch longer giving you better tail authority. The stock blades work great, but I put a set of kbdd main and tail blades and am happy with those as well.
