I've done it they are probably fine but cycle them just for fun before you risk your heli.

Done it a couple of times with no ill effects. Depends how long they touch for of course, mine only touched for a split second and made a loud crack!

Touched very briefly should not be a problem, mostly if it didn't get hot and all cells seems fine when plugged on your charger, you should be good to go.

You will know it is damaged if it swells up. No swelling means its probably OK.

Yup, Scarey, but not normally fatal
Just end up having to resolder on some new connectors

I've done that before. It's not exactly good for your batteries, but unless they become really swelled up, they will probably be OK. But learn from this and be more careful next time.

Hands up those who have snipped both battery wires at the same time?!

Pressing ec3/5 bullets into their plastic sheath on a metal work bench?!

It is so easy to make a mistake with lipos. It only takes a second of poor judgement.

Yup, that's why my member name is JOLT! Took a 6S 5000mah pack direct short while soldering. An electrifying experience I never want to go through again. Burnt the hair on my arm too. My eyes were blood shot! I have a lot of respect for the amount of power we deal with and think through EVERYTHING I do with my heli.

Pre flight inspections
Post flight inspections
Going over everything twice before working on the heli
Etc, etc, etc

I have always heard that CF frames were conductive. I didn't realize just how conductive until I shorted the leads on my 700 frame edge while inserting the flight pack.

Fortunately I didn't have the front locking system engaged, and I was able to unshort the bullet connectors quickly, but not so quick that the heat didn't melt a 1/16 deep chunk out of the frame edge and a 1/8 inch slot in my bullet connector. I can't believe still that the completely shielded (heat shrink) female connectors could short on the frame edge like they did. Fortunately the packs are fine.
