im using a dx6i as funds are tight right now. im wondering if i can use a cc bec pro to power a push glow off of the second power lead. ill only have one going into the dx6i.

im planning to get a 7100r and just run a 6.6 life direct but i just cant come up with the funds yet and man its a pita using a normal glow ignitor becuase ive got to take the canopy off to do it. with a push glow i can land refuel and go without taking off the canopy

how much current does the BEC put out?

here is the switch/push glo spec

Power Consumption
0.4mah per second of glow time
4.8mah per 12 second glow (average engine start)
120mah per 5 minutes glow (Airplane low throttle use est.)
Average current draw to glow is at 1.3amp (varies from 4 to 9V input)

So the BEC has to put out > 1.3A

Measured SwitchGlo current is about 1.8~2 A. Not very efficient but works great.

Guys thanks for the replies. I'd have to check but I think the CC pro puts out 3 amps. I'd be using a 4cell 1800 to power it.

I'm now kinda eying the jh20 voltage regulator. Its seem to be a very good unit only downfall is it cost 50 dollars more then the CC pro.

I've allready got the castlink so programming is a non issue with the castle unit

I'd stay away from Castle BEC's I had a 10 amp one that couldn't even power 1 jr 8717 , my medusa 3amp BEC powered 3 8717's and the rest of my equipment. I also had loose connections with them that caused crashes.

After that I got the Arizona ones and never had a problem. It powers my switch glow and everything else. There are probably a lot more BEC's on the market that are better than the castle. Try hobby king even.

alot hans changed in a few weeks
just a few days ago i got a new dx8 with ar8000 and telemtry module. then last night i orderd the 7100r reciever. and a few days ago when i bought the dx8 i had already orderd the cc bec pro.

i might not fly the cc bec pro probly just run direct to the 7100r

well see though with all this dang holiday stuff going on i havent been able to re set up the helicopter with the dx8 and ar8000 might just wait till the 7100r gets here

dign the telemetry

comes with temp and voltage sensor and always has rx voltage reading

for some reason i havent figured out the gyro yet. ive got a red light on the gy520 gyro and cant seem to make it go into rate mode

this thing is bad ass, i hope i have none of the problems that others have had
