I rather use a genny and not have to worry about charging the heater pack.

Does anybody have the hobby king heater? Does it work well with a tx mitten?

Great way to keep your fries warm between flights.

Once you try steak, is hard to go back to hotdogs.

I don't know about it keeping your hands warm, but you should be able to get a good tan!

Actual heating element is behind the metal bar grill.

Metal grill next to a hot element. That'll protect ya from getting burnt.

There is some truth there.

But, heat transfer is conduction > convection > radiation order.
There is an order of magnitude difference between each mode. So, it depends on temp increase due to radiation from the heating element and temp decrease due to convection to surround.

Once the thermal equilibrium is reached, no further temp increase to the grill will occur.

I just got a chance to try a radio mitt with a hobby king heater this weekend, and I have to say it was awesome. Totally makes winter flying better.

We ran the heater on a 2s li-po, and it get warm enough to heat the radio mitt, but not even close to hot enough to ever burn you. Also added a neck strap through the clear portion, and gooped it in place to keep the top of the mitt supported so it's not resting on top of your hands, as well as support the radio.

Spending money I don't have on things I don't need to impress people I don't know

I'm thinking about getting a pop up bob house (for ice fishing) and putting a propane heater in it and fly through the windows. And if i fly on a lake i can kill 2 birds with one stone- catch fish and fly helis lol

I need this in clear.

If you pop a hole on the top to get your head out, rest of your body and most importantly, your fingers will stay warm.
