So I understand a tail gyro, if I am putting in input to the rudder the gyro stops it's output and only out puts my command.
Now does this hold true to a FBL system? So when I am inputing rudder, elevator and alerons, the fbl system is making no corrections and I am flying it? But it I let of on say the elivator but was still inputting rudder and alerons does the FBL unit only take over the elevator?
I think the answers to my qustions are yes I would like to know.

way too oversimplified statement of both systems (and wrong regarding the gyro 'stopping' ).

if you really want to know, prepare to be bombarded with terms like PID and control loop.

the simplest way i can think to say it in lay terms is stick input is taken from the RX signals, and added to a complex output algorighm to maintain a reference position.

in other words, the output is then just the mathematical formula either inclusive of or exclusive of the input parameters. but, there's a lot of math being done to define the position of the reference OUT regardless of whether you do anything to the sticks or not.

have a read here about control theory

if it ain't broke, break it.

Okay, so then I put in left alerion and a wind gusts the system corrects for the wind gust while I am moving the heli?

Thank You! I truely was unaware of it's total functions. Now I know.

I am sure there are those out there contemplating FBL and don't understand how it works that would like to know.

Rather than the FBL vs FB stuff.
