Do I really nneed aluminum bearing blocks? Does it make any difference? Just wondering I am rebuilding a 250 and want to do it right.

No - I've run both the plastic and aluminum, no difference. The aluminum look nice but that is the only difference.

If the bearings feel crunchy at all replace them. Easy to do with the plastic holders. Might be able to find them at the local hobby shop in the car section. My hobby shop carries a bunch of bearings loose for the car guys - or buy them from one of the online bearing suppliers.
