the only part I would considering upgrading is the bottom plate, the rest would just be cosmetic.

a little bit too late anyway knowing that aftermarket has been doing this for some time and there are even better main frame available with PEM nuts.

I like my top tray in G10; initially I had glitches on my SG90, I changed all JR8717HV with metal cases for regular 8717.

Problem solved!

The rest of the up grades are nice and I am going for !

yes.

but to be honest I would suspect carbon rubbing the wires etc. . . you shouldn't be having those kinds of problem with that servo.

after seeing some incidences with spectrum first hand I don't trust it.

actually that's not quite true: I do trust it to fly a little, little blade MCPX.

@MANCHA you changed the alu cases on the servos because they were causing glitches?
Does that mean I will have problems with my MKS hbl servos too?
They are aluminium cases too!

I have never seen something like this - while there could be a combination of thinks that makes this particular installation behave like this - it must be a one of a kind problem.

Have been running 8717 for 500+ flights on the SG without problems.

Glitches are hard to explain most of the time;
A friend from Bitaches RC Club placed regular 8717 on his t-Rex and had glitches therefore exchanged them for 8717HV and glitches went away !

As silly as it sounds, glitches are real and collect a toll when they show up at the field.

In my short time with helis my guess is that how we build the kit or how helis produces statics electricity due to weather conditions, materials we use and/or certain chassis design, glitches show up.

In this particular case, my SG90 initially had HV8717, maiden flight in Queretaro at 2,903 meters over sea level and in green grass field then it came home to Baja at sea level, dry lake with a combo form by dirt+ fine sand+ salt and Hight temperature; it had glitches , hit the dirt and I exchange my $200 dollars 8717HV servos for regular $139 8717; glitches were gone!

I would put glitches into two categories:

1) glitches on control loop where the transmitter is trying to tell the receiver to do something but it doesn't happen, either due to lost packets and/or radio interference etc. . . .

2) glitches on the receiver end where it trys to tell a servo to move to this or that position but doesn't and the signal gets messed up, and may in the process messes up the decoding of the signal from transmitter also.

I would move to Futaba to fix the first one and look carefully at my setup for the second. I know of some people who use the metal 8717HV and they've been fine.

I've never had any glitches to speak of.
