Very pleased with the way this overhaul turned out. Has a YS91R3DS
engine, 701 gyro with governor and BLS251 tail servo, and Hitec
HS-7955TG servo's on controls.
Upgraded lower rear frame for strength and added aluminum cross member
with 8 landing gear dampers to prevent or minimize any ground resonance.
The next overhual coming up is my Stratus.
Marry Christmas to all and God Bless.

Looks good. What do you consider an overhaul? Complete dis-assembly of every piece? When do you decide to do a complete overhaul and do you do this as opposed to regular maintenance? The only time I ever tore a heli completely down was when I bought a used heli.

I do not completely disassemble; I do a partial disassembly and
inspection of major components and parts.
And replace the parts that are worn or old with new or up to date
parts and that includes electronics and wiring, engine, and parts of
the helicopter.
It is a good thing to have a maintenance schedule such as pre and post
flight inspections, then you have your weekly, monthly, and so fourth.
Decide how long you are willing to keep a part such as a servo, mark
it in your maintenance log and when that time comes replace the servo.
Same goes for everything else.

I am curious . . . eight dampers on the gear . . did you try four and then decided that you needed more?

Nice Raptor!

AH! Thanks.

The Fun-Tech mufflers you're using . . . are they any better than other mufflers you have tried?
