I'm setting up a V-bar in my 600SE using a Dx7 and two satellites.
This will probably turn out to be a dumb question but how do I assign a channel to control the tail rotor gain?

No it wasn't. You should have seen Kyle and I when we first got our version 3.6 V-Bar. Talk about confused (-;

Things have gotten A LOT better for sure

Hahaha.........thanks. I'll bet those first versions were a bear!

So am I looking at this correctly? I can just assign the tail gain to the gear channel and adjust gain with end points like I do on my fly-barred helis?

Do mean the gyro menu in the radio?

From what I understand there's two ways to control the gyro gain; using the gyro menu -and- assigning it to a channel then using its end points. I've always used end points.

Is that what you mean?

Are we still talking radio? If so, I've got the Dx7.

Using end points sounds more complicated than using the gyro gain settings. My suggestion is to keep is simple.

Not really. Futabas are advanced enough to have gyro gain programming.
