General question regardless of new or old heli. All my helis are ready to fly. I will be building a new heli and will use the electronics out of another heli. Do many people keep helis they take the electronics out of or is every heli you have ready to fly? Helis take time to set up so if you remove the electronics, do you spend the time to re-set them up? I think taking pictures of servo placement and servo arm positions would be a good way to remember where to put stuff back at.

Just seems like too much of a pain to move electronics around and then helis without electronics collect dust.

you know in your heart whether you 'like' the machine enough to eventually re-setup and fly it or not.

If it's going to just sit there on the bench w/o electronics, then just sell it unless there is a personal attachment to it or if the thing is unsellable.

i usually keep the airframe until i'm happy that the new one is flying better than the old one.

then it's up on the auction block.

if it ain't broke, break it.

If your willing to take the eloctronics out for another bird then you didnt like it that much to begin with so I would sell it instead of it collecting dust and taking up space.

If you are romoving parts of a perfectly good heli and plan on putting them back. It's fair to say its a waste of time. That being said, its your time and your heli's so.......do what you want.

with how quickly stuff changes in this hobby, I typically sell the machine if I take the electronics out of it. If you wait to long, a newer, better, faster, lighter machine will be out and your won't be worth much

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

I always leave as is and use new on new airframe , will suck to crash over used electronics . I'm not saying it can't happen with brad new electronics but the chances are better .Also as posted things change fast so out with the old in with the new

I stole it ,flew it and gave it back ;)

If you're taking the electronics out to set up another helicopter I do agree that the time has come to put it on the block. All of my helicopters are ready to fly and I rarely cannibalize one for the sake of a new build.

Wayne - Fly it like you stole it! You're in good hands with Runryder!

If you think you may want to fly it again fine, otherwise I'd sell it. As the guy above posted the older it gets, the less you can get for it.

Yea, probably will sell. There are so many people on here with 15 to 20+ helis. I couldn't imagine having that many and maintaining them. I figured people may have that many helis, but only a few were flight ready. I know a lot of plankers at my club have many planes lying around they flew and pulled the guts per say out of them. I guess planes aren't as easy to sell so people hold on to them.
