I think there's a comment on Youtube saying the OS has more power.

Bobby hasn't got his broken in yet but he's really gushing about it on Facebook.lol....

But ever since it showed up at Tower, I keep looking at my electric thinking... pretty sure I could sell this for enough to get one of these....

Probably just like the OS91 vs YS91 .. The OS105 will run smoother (short stroke) and give more torque while the YS120 will be the power house but more vibration (long stroke) ..

I think the 105 is the better jump from 90 vs all the way up to a fuel gulping 120 ...

Either way two new shiny power plants on the block to fuel plenty of "vs" threads for the winter months before anyone even has them, lol.

More power = way cool!!!

BTW, one other nice thing about the 105 is it also has the backplate that accepts the BPS-1 gyro sensor. I mean yeah it's kind of vendor lock-in, since it's intended for the GY701 or CGY750 governors, but it's a really nice method of mounting the sensor.

I.e. you don't have to mess with putting magnets in your clutch bell or on the fan, messing with mounting the sensor, etc.

I use one of these on my 91HZ-R and GY701 and it works great. The only drag is having to let the silicone cure for 24 hours, but otherwise no mods are needed.

Er, anyone want to buy an electric 700E...

If a 105 is more power than a 120 then YS REALLY goofed up. There is NO SUBSTITUTE for cubic inches.

Gearing, headspeed and the overall weight of a machine are what give the appearance or lack thereof of more or less power.

Put that 105 in a old Craptor 90SE and see if it makes big power. That old girl was anything but "swimsuit form".

With electrics you can measure wattage. Peaks and average. Nitro is just fly by the seat of your pants perception. Nothing wrong with that. Just no definitive way to gauge.

Like I said if a 105 is more power than a 120 the manufacturer of the 120 didn't do their homework.

Dammit.

I really have been enjoying my 91HZ-R for the last 6 months, but this motor has me drooling.

I'd be curious to hear how much flight times are effected by it.

This field is the best in the area IMO. It is my home field and I personally fly there with Bobby all the time.

This motor is incredible, I can't wait to see it fly in person! Wow!!

It took OS 6 tries to get the 91 right, lets see how long the 105 takes. Some of the OS 91 's were real vibrators even after 3 tries to get it right.

thats because he hit throttle hold with a load on the head (climbing) every heli hangs on the pipe for a little bit when you do that, happens to me every time!

A high idle can cause the "hanging on the pipe" effect as well.

I've noticed it on my 700N. Bumping the idle down a click or two gets rid of it.
