Guys,

Here is a few shots of the JR 260 Sport. Check out the size
of the fan.......... Also with the new AR 7200BX going flybar
less is very simple. All in one, Beast-X and Receiver sure cleans up the amount of wires in the machine. The reciever will be available soon. All High voltage servos except the tail servo still @ 5.0 volts
that is why the is a reg in this set up for the tail only.

The fan and clutch look a tad small, don't you think? Like a direct nitro conversion. However the muffler looks like it would be very quiet.

how much does the basic model weigh RTF (or without fuel)?

what gear ratio are you running it at?

All,

This Heli is available thru Horizon Hobby. Also if you like you can
Download the manual from there site.
To answer some questions about the model, the fan is alot larger
than the other gasers I have (Radikal; JR Voyager and Predator)
It uses 810 MM Blade 105 MM tail blades both come with the kit.
The motor and muffer also come with the kit. If you look close you
can see how the muffer is attached the the motor, very different
that anything I have ever seen. This will not crack like other have after some time; it is bolted in 4 places and does not hanging off the
motor like some others. The body is glass, and pre cut.
I bulit this for Flybarless and so far I am very inpressed with
how well it flys....Smooth very fast. On the radar gun it has
seen 91mph. It is also very easy to see.
It has been windy here. Because of the weight and size of the machine
it doesnt bounce around.
This is not a 3D machine so the weight doesnt matter to me 15.6 Lbs
I am running the head at 1600 RPMs and the gear ratio is 6.77:1
Tail is belt drive.
All CNC parts in the kit except fan cover and tank.
Also Raja, would like this machine because there is no fuel foaming in
the tank..
Hope I covered all the questions.

Chris,

No vid yet, I may fine someone to shoot some if the weather holds
out. Winter in Ohio. I will say it has been the easiest motor to tune
so far. I think it has alot to do with the long heavy blades.

I like the fuse. I also like how you fuel it (with the little fuel cap). But is it really $2600?

all of the gas models are very smooth if you keep the motor speed in the mid 10's.....

This is very nice. What's $2600 when you've got $4000 in a SpectraG

2600.00 is not bad for a gasser heli, 810mm blades, 260 engine,
I guess u have never put a gasser together?
I'm sure the fuse came with it too.
Looks awesome to me!!!!!! XGM/VGM

Actually that $2600 price tag (which checks out on the Horizon Hobbies website) made me feel a lot better about what I previously spent on my Spectra-G. Gassers do not come cheap, and this JR one has a really nice fuse which is included with it. I am a BIG fan of fuselages on helicopters. I saw this helicopter flying at IRCHA, and with the fuse on there, it looks really big and nice up in the air.

I personally will not be buying one, but there are a lot of little things I like. Do you notice how there is a little mount to hold the secondary coil? JR does cool things like that.

I assembled mine in September 2011.
The cost of $2,600 includes the blades (@$400), the front canopy (@$200), the rear canopy (@200), the muffler (@200.00).
Engine mounting and clutch alignment was very easy, without use of dial indicator or feeler gages.
Best suggestion I can make is to assemble without rear body for initial flights and adjustment. You cannot access the tail servo with the rear canopy installed. In order to install/remove rear canopy, you must dismantle the tail gear assy.

While Horizon is the distributor, they do not have stock of all the parts. After 4 weeks, the LHS is still unable to supply the parts I wished to keep as spares.
I have flown each Saturday, and Sunday, as well as 4 Friday afternoon's since I finished its assembly on September 23rd. Usually 4 to 5 flights per day of 10 to 15 minutes.
The manuals provided with the kit are in Japanese on paper, but in PDF format on the provided CD.

If you cannot get parts from Horizon or your LHS, you might try rcjapan.net
They appear to have every JR part number listed with prices in Yen.
The do add shipping and a 3.5% fee for paypal / credit card payment.
Delivery is 5 to 10 days

$400 for a set of 810mm main blades and 105mm tail blades? That's a little bit much, don't you think? You can buy the same from other major blade manufacturers for less than $200.

For parts you might want to check with airfoil.
