I'm curious as to how many guy's keep a heli in their vehicle most all the time, for those spontaneous flying times?
I keep a MCPX in my car trunk and really enjoy taking a few minutes flying at different places when I'm traveling. Places I normally would not take the time to drive to.

All the time in the spring, summer and fall.
Now that the temp's are droping, not so much.
Nitro is cold on the hands, and Batteries do not like the cold.

Never, I don't like to expose them to the temps and theft is always a concern.

One mile of road will take you one mile. One mile of runway will take you anywhere in the world.

I keep mine in the jeep when I go to work. It's a secured parking garage and then fly during lunch.

i'll toss a 450 or smaller in the trunk if i think there might be a chance during the day. but, it's a conscious decision when i leave in the morning. there's never just a heli sitting in the car.

though with the brushless mcpx it's tempting...i'd need to rebind to my backup tx...i'm not leaving my good radio in the car all the time.

if it ain't broke, break it.

I take my mcpX with me sometimes. Now that the cold weather is setting in, I probably won't now until spring.

I hadn't considered weather I can see where that is a game changer. We're kind of spoiled in CA. Only issue here is wind.

Steffgiguere:
I know you fly Logos. Do you fly a Logo at lunch? that must be nice....Pretty congested around here. We have a few fields in the area where we fly bigger birds but I would be too nervous in a park here. A couple of us belong to a local club but the heli field is like "Yeah, you guys can fly over there in that little spot at the end of the runway".

cudaboy71:
I was doing the 450 park thing for a while and always feeling nervous that someone was going to walk into my air space. Even when I was sure no one was around. I'm not good enough to 3D in a narrow airspace. My flying is mostly circuit. With the brushless mcpx I can fly circuit and fly relaxed. I don't like leaving a good radio in the car though either. I bought a used DX7 for $100 on HF and I keep it in the car.

i miss my noon flights.
I bought a used DX7
that's my backup, too. all the helis are programmed in. just have to rebind if i ever have to send in the other radio.

if it ain't broke, break it.

My wife asked me last week if I go flying at lunchtime rather than go home.
No dear I just like to keep them in the car so they don't clutter up the house.

Interesting visual I remember seeing a deer head tied to a front bumper in Oregon.
Blood and all. Was freaky. Heli much better.
