hi guys, just curious if im doing something wrong here.
i have heard of issues with earlier beastx versions, but up till the last week, my v3 has been performing faultlessly, infact i could not of been happier with how it performs of the bench, best out there i recon.

Over the last week though, i have had two futaba mini digitals die in a trex 450, and two tail servos die in two sepererate trex700es.

all my equiptment is thoughly checked and rechecked, so any kind of inflight failure, i take very seriously. Four failures in three different models, with the new beastx unit as the only commonality, all in a three day period is simply astronomical odds, and now im suss as all f on it, and wont use it again.

is there a service center that would have half a hope of diagnosing problems, or is it a throwaway item ? i understand they are cheap.

cheers

The BeastX has a pulse rate for the cyclic servos. Maybe take down to 50 if not already. Also check pulse length for tail servo. 760 or 1520? Depends on what the servo is rated for. Good luck and I hope this helps

just a side note:

i am setting up a vbar 450-class heli with s3156 on cyclic. brand new servos. only 1/2 way through the setup and one fried on the bench.

i wasn't even doing anything. i had the system initialized and the cyclics at zero. i was just looking up something on my computer at the time and heard one of the servos go to low position.

the thing was seized up solid. after i pulled the servo out of the airframe i couldnt budge the horn at all.

i'm just wondering if there's an issue with the micro futabas and FBL. i've flown the hyperion micros on sub-400 class helis, align micro servos on 450 and 250s both with beastx; full size futaba, JR and hitecs on 50-90 class helis with vbar. this is the first time i've ever burnt a servo and i find it more than coincidental that yours is a micro futaba.

if it ain't broke, break it.

I have run 9 BeastX without a servo failure.
On the tail servos, are you running the proper voltage, with a stepdown?

There are two ways to fry your servos.

1. Choose the wrong neutral pulse setting. If you do this, the servo will generally drive to one end, stall, draw lots of current, and if you're not quick enough to kill the power, you'll cook the servo. You didn't say your servos were running to one end, then croaking, so I'll assume you have the correct setting (typically 1520 usec for most servos).

2. Choose too fast an update rate for position pulses. The "standard" update (or "frame" rate) for servos used to be in the 50 - 60 times per second (Hz). With the introduction of digital servos, that number seemingly has increased to where some servos are more than happy to get position updates at upwards of 333 Hz. If you're giving the servo position updates faster than they can handle, you'll cook the servo.

So look up your servo types, find their maximum allowable update rate, and choose a number smaller than the update rate.

http://www.beastx.com/service_servoliste.html

Tell the site which SW you have and select your language, the chart will pop up. Scroll down, find your servo.

S3156, update (frame) rate at less than or equal to 200 Hz.
