How much compression does your guys engines have? I just purchased a used one that had a new ring, and sleeve with about 3-5 gallons on it. It is not in my heli right now as I just got it today. However, the sleeve and ring look great, but I can turn it over somewhat easy by grasping the crankshaft. To me it feels low on compression.

My OS 55 that is sitting next to it, I am unable to do so due to large compression. The only way for me to turn it over is if I used a pair of fliers to grasp the crankshaft, which I don't want to do.

There seems to be a large diff. in compression between the two engines.

I do know that some engines tend to feel this way on compression, but run fine.

any feedback would be appreciated.

depends on how much oil in in each motor,a drier motor wont have as much compression....

Well, it has oil in it. Not dry. I checked out the rear bearing and it's a bit notchy as well. It could be that maybe the ring and cylinder just did not ever seal. Seller stated ring, liner, and piston was replaced. I have looked at piston, ring, and liner and it looks good.

May end up having to purchase another liner and ring set.

I may try and run it to see how it runs. However, with the back plate off you can hear some of the compression leaking down into the crankcase. I know nothing seals perfect, but this is leaking pretty bad.

As stated, I can turn crankshaft moderately easy. The used OS 55 I can't turn unless I get some pliers on it. I figure it should be close to the 55 on compression right?

After 3 gallons, the rings should be seated or close to be seated right?

Well, I have an OS 55 with funtech B320 that I can throw in the heli. It has an OS 50 hyper right now. I may order sleeve and ring for it as the piston looks to be in great shape, then break in the YS again.

Or I may just throw it in and see what happens. Monitor it for several tanks to see what its going to do, then go from there.
