I have a T-Rex 600 running on a 12s system with a Castle HV 85 ESC w/ 100's of flights logged – all was going good until yesterday…
• Fully charged batteries
• Test ran in driveway
• Drive out to the park – flew for about 1 minute & landed – no issues with ESC
• Disconnected main batteries & reset the trim on the helicopter
• Plugged everything back together & no response from the ESC
• Tried new set of batteries – still no power – no beeping – no smoke - no nothing – no power indicated on voltage meter when tested at the 3-wire motor connection
• Return home – Double checked for loose or un-plugged receiver wires – everything looks fine on the 4025 Scorpion
• Plugged ESC in to Castle USB/PC and it shows “connection to PC – green light” but no connection to device

Any suggestions on what to try next?

Thanks, Mike imthomas@nwi.net

Probably not much you can do other than call Castle.

reset trim...???

Wait a minute... what do you mean by reset trim?

CC ESC need to be calibrated so stick at min mean minimal and stick at full mean full throttle.
All this setup is doing by moving ATV on Tx awaiting for beeps on ESC.

If you change this, ESC is not going to work till you recalibrate...

As Rojoalfa says - if You changed anything in THR setup (Hi/Lo/Trim) then You MUST readjust it. Otherwise it won't work (unless accidentally Your Tx THR channel range fits to CC but it's veeeery seldom)

To have or to fly? This is a question...

Sorry about the “trim” confusion…meant to say elevator & aileron trim – the t-600 was leaning a little bit and wanted to correct that before the next hover. So nothing was messed with within the throttle settings – only aileron & elevator trims were adjusted. Since this original post I have double checked the radio settings & all is good there.

Also I tested for:
• voltage leaving CC > receiver and w/a battery connected there’s zero voltage on the 3 wires going to the reciver as well as the 3 wires leading to the Scorpion
• Ohms tested the series cable connecting the (2) 2650 mah batteries – all is good there
• Received a e-mail from CC suspecting the control board getting zapped by static. I will follow up with him on this one.
Thanks for everyone’s feedback & hopefully will get this issue sorted out soon. Mike
