I have 2 types of flybar rods.

H60108T 440mm
and

H60012 which I measured at 400mm

Beside the lenght difference, what are the differences (pros/cons) between using one or the other?

Use the 440 ones.

The 400's were the original length ones and then people wanted faster roll rates so they came out with the 440's. Use the 440's and let the 400's go or sit around unless you really have no money and have to have a replacement. Longer further out paddles helps with the hover stability cause of the gyroscopic effect and being out further will have more reaction on the head for roll rates when rolling and flipping.

longer flybar would make the reaction near center much faster. cyclic rate is still the same.

My understanding is the longer flybar gives you the best of both worlds. You get increased stability, plus you also get more responsivness.

There is no free lunch though, longer flybar takes more power, everthing is a tradeoff.

so having a longer flybar will increase the cyclic response, but make it more stable when you aren't giving cyclic inputs (wind, for example).

Your both right.

Longer more stability and when it goes off center it makes it go faster into the roll and flip rate but finally reaches it's full rate after a bit and maintains that throughout.

I agree on reaction, stability, consume more power on the longer flybar. But cyclic rate still the same.

To prove that staticly;
Put your heli on 0* pitch, 0* cyclic. Now, tilt the flybar to extreme and note how much the main blade angle changed. Regardless between the two rod, mainblade pitch caused by extreme flybar travel is the same.

Happy holidays guys....
