I would like to know to, now that you brought it up. I recently tried to record some movies from my camcorder to dvd that apparently records in mp4 format. When I tried to play it in all of my dvd players there was no sound just the video.

I don't know about shareware but I use a program called DVD Catalyst to convert MP4's recorded using my Flip HD Camera into video usable on my Xoom tablet.

It can convert all kinds of video into all kinds of other video and it's only 10 bucks!

Yes, here is one I have been using!

Free Studio V5.3.1 is the one to look for.

Works good, and has been for about a year now!

You guys are going to hate this:

Linux has PiTiVi - it is freeware and kicks the heck out of most commercial video editing software.

And, it will convert from almost anything to almost anything else.
I use it for my Sony HD camcorder - and convert to AVI, MP2, MP4, WMV.

I can also take three or four avi or mpg files and up-convert to HD DVDs.

I run Ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop. A super Windows / Mac OSX replacement.

I was looking for something like that the other day until I decided to try windows live movie maker.
I'm pretty sure windows movie maker live might do it.
Just start new project import the video file and once you are done with all the editing you go to save movie - burn DVD.

Intelligence chases me, but I'm a lot faster! Fernando
