How foolish I feel now that I realize, not everyone started with a vintage heli 20-40 years back.

Santiago, I didn't know there was another thread like this. I do not visit the "Antique" section here on RR. If they want to post on this thread, let them.

Just saying Bro, just saying...

It does pop up once in a while whe you use the start here button, thats how I saw it.

EDIT
please continue this one, but check that other one if you want to get a kick out of what some folks started with long ago, is worth it.

Some helis look more like a 2X4 with a rotor head!!!

Hawk I, futaba standard servos, Futaba 153 mechanical gyro and Futaba 7 FGK radio.

You could hover and do some nice figure 8 flying but pitch linkage and swash was not very good, center stick got always a different pitch degree each time you moved the stick around.

Full ball bearings and HH gyro were the first big improvement I saw later on

EFlite CP Pro--"The Disposable Helicopter"

I spent so much money on those Eflite crappers. Every time I see the name "Eflite" my left eye twitches uncontrollably.

Another for the shuttle ZXX. It actually wasn't too bad, but wasn't too great either. Parts prices were outrageous - my JR Ergo and Vigor were .60 sizes and had cheaper parts than the ZXX. The belt drive on the ZXX was a horrible design. It wore out at both ends pretty quick and had only a partially driven tail. Not a lot of fun when shooting autos.

I muchly prefer the stuff we have now. Even mediocre modern helis are zounds better than the old c$$$ola we used to have to deal with....
